THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

maybee or low on fluid, i ran the aw4 in the green jeep out of fluid 3 times and it still worked great

alan oveheated his at the b-town property and it wouldn't go anywhere. then he let it cool down and voila the torque converter worked again.

Haha, she actually isn't bad looking. (She would look even better after I get those shorts off of her)
not gonna lie, i totally agree. i like the build that biker girls have. partially cuz i ride myself but also because... well. it's not bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Travis, remember when I told you about that '98 with the AX-15 that had 206K on it, and I told you my dad would instantly dismiss it once he found out the miles?

Ya I just talked with him, his words were "wait how many miles? Alright we can forget about that one."

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

lol that sucks. tell him "well the red one you approved didn't exactly turn out so well...what say you sit back and trust me on this one?" ...wonder how well that would go over :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

whatever dude, my ax15 has gone to hell and back and is still tickin. drove it for 4 months with no clutch, and have wheeled the piss out of it for years, the fluid has been flushed once since i've had it, and never has it tried to push me into an intersection....keep your silly aw4, jealousy is not what i'm feeling haha

on another note though, sorry to hear about your woes and hope you get em worked out
haha yeah I'm just yanking your chain :D it didn't so much push me into the intersection as, well, not quite let me get out of it gracefully :/ I had to pretty near floor it to accelerate at all. My first thought was that my vibrating driveshaft had landed on the ground, then I realized that was stupid because (a) no horrible noises (b) I was moving, though slowly. Next I figured my TPS was acting up, but the engine was revving normally... I'm pretty sure the torque converter said "no mas" for some reason, hopefully just because my fluid is old as hell and pretty burned. As in I don't think the previous owner EVER flushed it and I haven't gotten around to it yet... at 128k... yeah.

EDIT: I figured maybe low on fluid too... nope... it's a quart or so ABOVE where it should be actually :gag:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a Dana 44 out of a '78 F250 now...TIME TO BUILD!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome!

as for d30 weight... yeah they look fairly annoying to pick up, with the pumpkin hanging off the side... only thing I can really think of is maybe stick the pass side tube / side of pumpkin on one shoulder and balance it, then attempt to walk? definitely a painful proposition.

Most AW4s do that without a tranny cooler (from personal experience on the current one I had back about 3 years ago). It wants to start off in 2nd. It's just the TCU that goes haywire. He parked it, I told him to shut it off and restart it. Problem solved.

I don't think AX-15s suck, hell I wouldn't mind driving a 5-spd XJ everyday.

But, my AW4 has 290k and counting. I first got it in my 2-dr about 3.5 years ago. It had 185k on it then with brown/black fluid.

I used it for mud bogging back then, which meant religious rev limiter and TCU controlled 1-2 shifts (meaning banging the rev limiter for a couple seconds and then shifting into 2nd) in 4LO through mud every weekend.

I parted that jeep out at 235k and threw the AW4 in the garage.

Along comes this jeep and I swap it into this one. I changed the filter, the fluid, and emptied the torque converter. Threw the tranny in (while forgetting to refill the torque converter), filled the pan, and started her up. Converter ran dry for about 10 seconds.

I can honestly say, no problems EVER since I've owned it. All I've done is put a tranny cooler on it and that ONE fluid change.

And I think everyone here knows how hard I am on it. I hit the rev limiter at least once a day.
