THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

one of mine is too :( I just filled the cap with as much grease as I could before install, and I'll put as much as I can in tomorrow, and I'll order one ($3 from CTM! grr) next week. silly little machined grease fittings...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

did you have to install the fittings after you slid the shaft through the knuckle?

there is barely enough clearance on my 44 to slide in the shafts let alone grease fittings on the u joint caps

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

plenty of space, thanks reid racing :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my take on the 44 vs 60 for under a 37" tire size

less unsprung weight. for the win
more clearance. ftw
once the 44 is built up to withstand abuse it costs as much as a 60. for the lose

im glad I did a 44, especially now that i have dropped down to 35's

I go back and forth on this every week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i feel bad, cash for clunkers took a nice one today, had to blow up a 95 cherokee, pizza cutters, nice black paint, mint interior, even the ac worked, 103 k on it, thing ran for 30 mins with liquid glass in it, died like a trooper and put up a good fight. however i did snag some things off it to live on a better life....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

screw you people and your fears of running 35's on 1tons.

XBOBJ's friend with the huge ass Chevy was on 1 tons(Ford like yours at that) and was on 36s that measured the same as my 35s and was showing me up. Granted I think I did everything he did until I busted my shafts. He also had a doubler and I dont:(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

there's a simple solution to that. don't get a 4 link dummy!

if you can do all the fab work to put the axles under your jeep, you can also do your own 3 link.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I agree with Travis

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

x3. I'd 3 link it.

On that note, Carmelo picked up some spare front shafts from me for the JY.

How do I beat on my jeep more than jumping it 4 feet off the ground?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just learned something... if you want to get a good price at Sam's, make absolutely sure you get the younger guy with the tattoos at the register not the old fat dude or the old dude who flosses with cigars... he uses the price sheets they have (or even goes cheaper), they pretend to look at the price sheet and then add five or ten bucks, then when you call them on it they get nervous seeming and half-ass act like they forgot to replace the price sheets in the window. difference between a 20 dollar driveshaft and a 30 dollar one, or a 20 dollar gas tank + fuel pump (!) and a 50 dollar one... and I just got charged 30 for a throttle body that was listed at 25 and probably would have run me 20 from the younger dude.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was at Hollands and they told Colin $100 over the phone but when I got there I pulled them and the guy ended up selling them to me for $50

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

nice!

How's the selection at Hollands? I haven't been there since fall 06 or so for their "$50 all you can carry" they ran... been wondering if it's worth the drive.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Awesome selection right now. They have a bunch of cherokees. Alot of them are in great condition too since alot of them are from the CFC program.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmmmmmm.... I may have to make a trip at some point then. I "need"* to pick up a stock passenger fender in PW1 at some point, and an antenna mount to cut open and modify.

* the chicks around here don't dig body damage apparently

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Jeff sells brand new ones at Crown. Check out how much one from him would cost before you go for used. I don't know about body parts but alot of times it's just as much for something from him brand new.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah... my existing one is a CAPA certified one from rockauto ($80 total shipped cross country), I somehow managed to suck at painting it (header panel looks great though)... I figure if I can find a good, non rusty one with the right factory paint, it will probably look better and last longer.
