THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just a thought. If you don't have the ability to put the axle in, 44 or 60. That could cost as much as the axle itself. But if you do. Don't think you have to completely rebuild the axle you are getting. I paid $500 for my front 60, $200 for the ring and pinion, welded the carrier, and put it in. So I only have $700 into my front 60. King pins, pads, rotors, bearings where all good. It would be an easy $1,000 just in labor if I had to pay someone to do the fab work though. The rear on the other side, I have a ton of money into, stock rear 60s suck. Just get a 14 bolt, there not that much heavier after you remove the massive drum brakes. If you are going to go to a bigger wider axle, skip over a 44. A stock 60 is still as strong or stronger than a chromo axle HP 44. High steer is also a lot easier and cheaper with the 60. But if you keep it low enough, you won't even need it.

I don't have the ability to do fab work (part of the reason the HP44 from Liza was appealing - all the fab work is done). I didn't want to go to the full-width width yet, so the narrowed aspect of a HP44 was also nice. I'm not sure the condition of the bearings, joints, brakes, etc. I'll post up a pic next week when I get it!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

makes sense then. Its not a HD HP 44 with high steer is it? I built a f-250 HD HP44 with 6 lug chevy outters, OTT highsteer, narrowed to 61"ish with factory waggy shafts. Sold it to someone local before I even put it in. Have not seen it sense...

Nah it's an F150 HP44 I believe. It has 5x5.5 with stock Ford knuckles. Getting it from Liza at Baystate Offroad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Call and ask for a price from exteme axle sales. Great guy. Will normally have the part to your door within one or two days. Price is cheaper when you call him. I have never had a problem with Yukon gears. Aside from a few dana 30 gears, but I don't think that has anything to do with Yukon.

Doug Brown is his name? I met him at All-Chrysler Nationals last year when I played around on the rock garden Raush Creek setup there. I should probably call.

Bob runs Yukons in all the rigs he sets gears for and I have never heard of a problem with them. My D30 took an a$$ whooping with a stock carrier so I don't blame the gears.
