THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

especially the top too. the top is longer and therefore more prone to bending.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

will the top tie into the coil buckets? cuz i know theres not much room between there and the coils..got a pic handy?

and TNT's site isnt working for me to spend money :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you have any kind of aftermarket diff cover and plan on running the JKS steering, you won't have the room to run a straight TRE or heim joint. You need to put some kind of bend in the tie rod to use a straight end, or else you'll hit the diff cover.

The factory WJ ends are plenty beef at 24mm, and are cheap enough. They clear my ruffstuff cover until I just hit full lock left.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the knuckles were already drilled to 11/16 i think so this was kinda the reason to go with heims so i dont hafta deal with reaming and my only option for steering now is 1 ton or custom built with heims, i have some 3/4" (i think) heims lying around and some DOM just gotta get inserts and i should be able to build all the steering needed.

its got a riddler cover

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well make sure you put a bend in the tie rod to clear the diff then. Even a stock D30 cover would probably have clearance issues.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i can do that, it wont be going in for a while anyways...im gonna polish it probly more than i should

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bump, do you still have those tires off the 2 door? I know I said I was going to pick them up, but I've been extremely busy with work this week, and I haven't had any time to do anything. Maybe next week sometime?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I waited a day and then gave them to the homeless to burn.

No there still on the XJ Im gonna tear it apart Sat. but the axles are last, so until you stop down for them I'll leave them on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i might pop the seal out of the disconnect housing and get the seal that fits the shaft right next to the carrier and weld a plate over the back of the disconnect. any reason not to?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just have the seal by the carrier, i had to measure OD of the axle and the ID of the tube and get close but i ended up getting a seal that fits just right on the axle but a lil small in the tube and i just siliconed the crap out of it and it works great

for the housing i put a bolt through the hole in the back and filled it with silicone to seal it cuz i didnt feel like welding

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah i did that too.. the measurement. then i went to the store and they had none in stock  apparently it was all special order. i have a huge list of part numbers that will work though...

didn't feel like welding?....? what? i made my own little plate like the one that warn sells... but i just want to be done with that and never have to worry about it leaking. i have a feeling i'll do that when everything comes out for the WJ swap too. i'll add that to the list. it would really only be another 10 mins while i have the welder out, though...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well that was back when welding involved me driving 30 min to a friends house and using his welder

nowadays i just pull out out of the basement into the garage and fire it up

i gotta start puttin WJ stuff on my new front axle and maybe paint her up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i also just got home from a trip in my buddys mom's suburban to adams, mass to get a sweet deal on 33" LTB's

the kid was a f'in retard he cut the track bar out of his xj when he took the sway bar links off because he thought it wasnt that important till he tried pulling out of the driveway only to discover that his axle was walking away

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and the motor makes a whole lot of bad noises bc his "alternator" as he's pointing to the ac compressor locked up and snapped the belt but he kept driving anyways

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, BTW I have stock jeep knuckles that are already OTK if you want them. They're not flat tops obviously but they're better then UTK and free.
