Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

but who I am to stop anyone for that? Haha.

anthony has been rejected on like the last 7 ideas he's had. but seriously, while not so overkill, i agree that space does factor in

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

is there an advantage to having the flex joint at the top of the trac bar? why not put it on the bottom?

only thing i can think of is to keep it out of the mud...

I have one on the top, and bottom.

And I believe the advantage is, there is more misalignment at the top joint, where the trackbar meets the bracket, then there is on the axle end, so therefore it would wear out a rubber joint faster.
At least that's how it works in my head.

Hey now, in his defense there's always a learning curve. You'd be amazed at the ideas I've had and shot down myself.
BINGO!!!! looks like ill be ordering this just as soon as i grab some wj stuff. ill probably just run a rubber or poly bushing with a shank at the other end and some tube and tube adapters in the middle

It's a nice unit. Its what I've got and I'm using.
You can see it, the tool (not really necessary), and the one without the shank on the right hand side of this picture. I'll have some pictures with it in actual use soon... hopefully. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

X2 about what mark said. also, with the RE1665, the angle of the TB bolt isnt perpendicular to the TB. at least thats how mine looked when i mocked it up. ive hear that having a rubber at the axle end is supposed to adsorb more road noise and deflection and stuff

i tend to think aloud too. there's not generally that much time between the conception of my idea to me typing it, so that's probably a big factor in the 7 things not to do.

and on that note, i think i can adapt my overkill idea to something with smaller threads, say in the 3/4-16 or 7/8-14 realm of things. and that's reasonable... i think.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

we have some hexagonal rod here at school... i think i'm going to find some that's the about the right length and turn the 2 ends down and cut the RH/LH threads on it for 7/8-14 and basically make my own threaded rod and i'll be left with a section in the middle that i can put a wrench on for adjustment. i could cut the RH threads with a die, because i'm sure we have one that big at school, and the LH ones with the lathe... only problem is knowing the grade of the metal.

either that or wait a bit for mike to find/make one :P
