THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh. poopy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the 6 spd is an NV5600 and not the NV4500

6th gear is virtually the same ratio as your 5th.

the dodge 6th ratio is .73

the ax-15 is .79

it has similar gearing to your ax-15 but with a granny gear

this is true, but doesnt it make sense that with this "granny gear" you could run higher ratio gears in the axles and still maintain a low crawl ratio?

i had heard that the final ratio was the same, that it was basically another gear between the ax-15 3rd and 4th... but i could be wrong. in any case, why wouldn't you run the same low gears and just have that much better of a crawl ratio? it's not like lower gears cost more.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thats silly, the 4.0 loves to rev
mine liked it so much, it hit the rev limmitter 30x in a row or so. where is that video anyway hmm? hehe just kidding mark. :wave1: i haven't put my stuff up either yet. that will be soon.

thats in the mercedes tranny used in the newer TJs.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and since the topic seems to be 5 and 6 speeds, whats the ratios of the 6 spds in the tj rubis?

id love to run a turbo stroker backed by the rubi 6spd or a nv4500 with some 3.00 gears in a street comanche

that be silly, get a t55 or t56 trans

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

whats it take to get one behind the 4.0? i lack info in the area of manual trannys except muscle cars and some stock jeep ones

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got the kit from Advance Adapters...it comes with the adapter plate to mount it to the old internal-slave style bellhousing, and the tailhousing to adapt to the 231.

You will need the non-HD parts for the trans (gasoline V8). That way the clutch and 23-spline output stay the same size as the stock Jeep stuff.

It's a big friggin trans. Expect to do some floor modding and/or crossmember work to get it in there.

It's a great wheelin' transmission...nice low gear, very solid shifts, great synchro action (no grinding gears), nearly indestructible behind a 4.0. It's also an extremely wide-ratio transmission so it's not the best for going fast. With 4.56's and 39's I'm a bit undergeared, but there's no short-shifting on this thing...pretty much gotta wind out every gear when going down the road.

Offroad...because of the overdrive, with the Dana 300 in low range I can hit about 65 MPH in 5th gear just before the rev limiter kicks in. The gears are a lot more fun to drive that way and it hauls ass pretty well...just imagine having 12:1 gears in your axle. Since I almost never have to go that fast offroad I usually just leave it in low range.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey, I got my first 1,999 posts posting tech, I got my last 115ish out of 128 post posting utter garbage in this thread.

This was 1 month ago. I had 2,127 back then, and I had over 2,200 last time I looked. Now I have 2,069, what happened?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

interesting...sounds like someone is playin around with ya!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mods may have cleaned some threads where you had posts. They do clean house every so often. That will affect your post count. :pirate1:

Ya I know, thats what I figured. Same thing happened back when I was about to hit 1,000. I hit it, then the next day I go to find I had like 900 posts.
