Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I found these before on craigslist, and I want them, but they are a nice drive. Wouldn't even get a chance to get them until maybe next weekend either.

You are going to hate me for mentioning this 'cause it'll get stuck in your head but here goes....

That Jeep you picked up needs new leafs, you and I both know it does.
Perfect time for some low 2-3" leaves in the rear, coil spacers up front (or spring for some low OME ones), decent shocks, 31" All-Terrains on Moabs... perfect DD. :D
i just watched disaster movie....
Just got back from "Yes Man". My girlfriend and I went and saw it.
I thought it was alright. Jim Carey has been better, but it was still good.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i actually only pay $8 for movies, in boston!

but thats from my student discount!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Come move closer to Boston lol.
Heck no! I hate the city.
This may sound cheesy but; I like to be able to hear the peepers in the spring, leaves falling and hitting the ground in the fall, slow ripple of the waves at night on the dock in the summer, and be able to see the stars at all times of year. Can't so any of that near the city!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yes but instead of sounds of peepers in the spring, you have the sound of drunk BU kids! whoooooooOO!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Naw, im gonna have to side with bill on this one.

i lived in Medford for a year and Woburn for almost 2, all the while went to school in backbay.

I HATED the city. Templeton is where its at!! nice and quiet

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

doesnt quite measure up to ace ventura?

if anything ever does, i'll be at the theater multiple times :)

I saw it last week, it was good I agree. Again, not his greatest, but definitely far better than some of his more recent flicks.

I noticed the leafs when I was looking at it. But no, I'm going to resist. I still have my old stock leafs, but I can't quite remember if they are that bad, I'm sure I inverted them a time or two.

I was thinking of Moabs too, I would love that, but then I remembered they are 16", and I just need the cheapest crap I can get. Also, nothing bigger than stock tires, I need the gas mileage.

I can't divert funds from the 4 door. (I'm trying to decide what to refer to each as, the 4 door or the green jeep?)

Ahh.... come on... you know you want to. :firedevil

Anyway, on another note... anyone notice the sketch for the brackets for my rear lowers in the build thread? I think I am going to go with it, but I just keep thinking there might be a better way. Unfortunately I can't go with one solid crossmember as the driveshaft gets in the way. My tube die is a 6" CLR and I just can't make it fit without going through the floor. I can't do 3 or 4 bends either to make it all one piece as the link mounts need to be further in than the radius would allow. So ya... gonna grab a bite to eat and get to work on them.

Oh and Anthony, give me a call if you where gonna swing by (assuming that is why you asked if I'd be around today). I think I should be here all day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, so I'm off to try to see why the 2 door won't start.

Would you recommend checking the fuel pump/filter first? Train of thought was that since it ran out of gas, stuff could have gotten kicked up in the tank, then clogged the system?

Have these ideas crossed your mind? I'm sure I've seen the first design on some sort of car before, I don't know how much abuse it received or how strong it would be, I just did a quick sketch.

As for the second, I saw this deisng in a picture i have saved on my computer. I don't know how much you would want to drop the mounts below the frame rail though.

Ya, they both crossed my mind for a little bit.
The first was thrown out because the travel of the driveshaft would cause me to cut the floor where the hump is anyway to clear the tubing. I am still aiming for a "sealed cab" when I throw the doors back on... so I'd rather not do that. It would probably work fine if it was not to be mounted so far back.
The second design wouldn't work either as again the crossmember needs to be so far back due to the wheelbase stretch to get the coilovers to clear the hatch that I'd run into driveshaft problems as well. That and I've got the mounts only 0.5" below the frame rail and I don't want to go any lower.

Thanks for posting that though, it reminded me that I still have to clearance the front crossmember slightly to work with the front driveshaft at full droop. I need a whiteboard or something in the garage to make a list of things that need to get done...

If you want to start there it wouldn't be bad, it probably needs to be done anyway. You are gonna have to drop the tank... have fun!

Crap... we have to stop posting tech in this thread or people will stop reading it! :eyes:
