THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Kate's jeep has a check engine light on for cylinder 2 misfire.

Probably the cylinder head issue that the 2011-2012s had. Knew it might happen in the back of my head when we bought it but they have a 10 yr / 150k mile warranty.

We'll see how that pans out on Wednesday when I bring it in.

"well your warranty on the engine is void because you do not have the original tires on there"

my parents are thinking of dumping their '11 wk2 soon for a better retirement car, have been having some many small issues with it lately, the rear windshield motor went, the gas door would not open

 I will murder someone if they give us shit for it.

Yeah we really haven't had anything major other than this yet. One of the door handle sensors for the automatic entry thing went out but they replaced that under warranty.

And they definitely use cheap rotors from the factory because I had to replace the fronts to get rid of the shudder on deceleration right when we got it.

Have you been taking the vehicle in for the factory recommended services? Oil changes by SAE certified mechanic? I know that when I got the Honda I was told to keep any of the warranty it needs to have every service completed, and the oil needs to be changed by a certified mechanic. Hopefully that isn't an issue.

I keep getting shudder on the Honda's brakes. Even after replacing everything, it was good for a while and came back in less than a year.

Nope. I've been doing the oil changes myself so we'll see how good their service department is.

Figured out why the cover on the carport from Colin didn't fit right. Has it on the wrong way, turned it a quarter turn and all good.

on my wk i did all of the oil changes and never had the dealer complain about when it came time for warranty work, though when i took it in to get the spark plugs changed and one last look around before the bumper to bumper ended the dealer reprogrammed the oil life in the computer to be at 50%

I didn't think they could void a warranty for not having work done at a dealer. Isn't there a law (or regulation) that says any required work has to be free if it is to be only done at a select dealer?

Edit: Yup. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0138-auto-warranties-routine-maintenance

Damn, that sucks. Lines with with everything I've been hearing about FCA and Jeep stuff in general lately though. All that has really turned me off from getting a new Jeep in a couple years. Good luck with the dealer.

ridiculously good. I time traveled back to 2004 for a few hours and it was amazing.

New songs are tits - they haven't announced it yet but new album comes out on May 20th :gag:

Schwwwweeeeeeeet.

Annnnnnnd her check engine light is now off.

Wonderful.

LOL. its a jeep thing.

on that note; my buddy's TJ 4.0/AX15 is making a loud 'click' noise almost every time the clutch goes in, at the same point on the pedal every time. we're thinking it's a broken spring on the pressure plate? it also pops out of first and the pedal is a little stiffer than normal. took the slave off and that wasn't broken. 160k, probably original clutch. gonna order a clutch kit but wanted to see if anyone else had an idea.

one of the good things about moving, is finding all the shit you've been looking for for the past 5 years, and the stuff you forgot you had

Sounds like it could be the pressure plate. If your buddy is in the cab pressing the pedal, does the noise come from the transmission area, or from the firewall area?

If you've eliminated the slave, then it is most likely pressure plate. When my Honda's pressure plate needed to be replaced it was more of a squeaking/clunking. The 2nd time it went bad it was the same deal. :(

I'm not sure popping out of 1st would be the pressure plate, could be synchros. Stiffer pedal could be the plate.
