THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Stove thread

I've thought about a WK, but I don't know much/haven't really looked into them. I'd like to get something under $10k to lower my debt, or even better something I could buy cash. A 1/2 would do the job, but it's overkill for what I'm doing, and mileage would suck for my ~70 mile round trip commute every day. Basically I have an unreasonable set of expectations for a vehicle that the Tacoma happened to fit, until it turned out to be a toilet. A Nissan Frontier would be comparable, but I haven't heard great things about those either.

Have you thought about a 2004 330i ZHP? Gets 25+ MPG even when you beat on it, plus it had the greatest 3rd or 4th owner that anyone could ask for.

What about a 3/4 ton?

What do you need to do again? Just tow a couple braaapp bikes on a trailer? If you're looking to be cheap, find a 4.3 V6 S10. Fuel mileage is not going to get better if you need to tow and you want to keep that budget unfortunately.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Stove thread

Had a blast over the weekend with my pup. Sheep, make sure you you put him in the truck and take him wheeling as soon as you can. He sleeps in the truck over long road trips and loves going off-roading.
we are going the rescue route so see how the dog reacts to everything but i would love to be able to bring them along

I wouldn't mind buying my dad's 08 4.7 WK when he decides to upgrade. It has the lifetime power train warranty on it anyway.
the lifetime power train is only for the first owner even then they are bitches about it. My 08 WK was under my name and my dads name, when we transferred it to 100% under him jeep tried to take take it away. we told them to eat a bag of dicks so they did and we kept the warranty

My old 08 KW (3.7) that my dad still DD has had little to no major issues. Outside of maintenance stuff, once the the computer freaked out and the dash stopped responding has the computer reflashed and never happened again, the water pump just got replaced, the cd changer eats cds, and the spare tire winch is stripped.

also dundy dose crown sell the spare tire winch for an 08 wk can only find it on dealer sites mopar # 52089369AI

Damn. I would only be interested in picking it up if my Rover exploded. He hasn't had any issues with it whatsoever... Its got around 70k miles on it now

I had an S10 when I was in HS that my dad bought for my sister and I to use, I can't even start to explain what a miserable pile of shit that was. Plus, fitting more than two people in an S10/Ranger is also a poor idea, unless you're driving about 30 feet.

ZR2 blazer then? Idk, I've never heard of many issues on that platform. Always liked the way the ZR2s with the factory 33" BFGs looked too.

Same pile of shit. How many of those do you still see on the road, considering how "recently" they were produced. I'd say the number of Jeep vehicles far outnumbers the S10 platform.

All you dog people.

How long do you end up leaving it unattended during the day?
Ours goes maybe 3 hours, usually less. We work different shifts so it works out good for that.
Free range of the house, nothing blocked off.

My dog was a MENACE when he was a puppy. He could not be left alone or he would find something and destroy it. never had a bathroom problem though. Some people aren't a fan, but we used crate training. He slept in the crate at night and when he was able to control his bladder/tell us he needed to go out we left the crate open with a dog bed outside of it. He eventually started to choose the bed so he stayed out at night (6 months old?). He stayed in the crate when we were at work until after christmas 2014 was over (couldn't trust him around the tree/ornaments) and we started leaving him out, telling him to go "into bed" before we left. we tried before that, but after once every couple days i'd find something destroyed. after christmas he was a lot better... a small piece of paper or something ripped up. he stayed in our apt up until a few weeks ago and now he and tarah's parent's dog have the whole house. while we are away at work. usually 6-7 hours. so was just over 2 years old before we could leave him out unattended. he turns 3 in october. we keep the bedroom doors closed in the house bc the dogs will lay on the beds all day and then there is dog hair everywhere.

my dog is not the norm.. he was exceptionally headstrong, but now he is pretty damn good. i can leave him outside on the front lawn and go inside and take a nap and he won't go anywhere. when he was upstate with me on ~200 acres of free land he listens great... except when there is some dead animal to roll around on. he still tests me every time he can, but i wouldn't trade it for any other experience, he's awesome.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Stove thread

With my parent's dog, we normally wouldn't leave her alone very often. Few hours here and there.

Now she goes about 6-7 hours unattended. Normally gated in the kitchen. Hasn't had an accident in a few years.

We're probably going to have kids before we get a dog, but it's my own personal belief that every kid should grow up with a pet.

Rigid Dually DOT fogs

Too much $$$ and I don't like the look. I'm sure they work well, but they would look to weird to me sitting in the stock fog light location. I'm looking for a nice decent sized circular lens, not a tiny LED pod.

Agreed, S10 trucks are some of the worst I've driven. I don't know how people tolerated those, every one I've driven has had horrible driving characteristics and felt like someone forgot to tighten a single bolt/nut in the front end.
