I scored an aluminum water pump housing for $50, a few Mopar oil filters for half price, and the head gaskets for the 440 down at the show. Just need the make sure the head gaskets will work as apparently the factory was pretty generous with the bore chamfers on some of the blocks.

With the aluminum heads going on, and then the water pump housing over the winter, it should drop the weight down to that of a cast iron small block (~550 lbs).

my motor looked pretty clean

went back together pretty well.. no leaks so far, seems to be running normal. although it is now leaking from a tranny cooler line (i think).

i have been at work for an hour now and i am still waiting for my computer to finish booting, IT has been telling me that they are going to give me a new laptop soon for the past 6 months
