I told him to shake the wiring harness but that is definitely not what I had in mind

After school the plan was to get batteries for my truck. I guess it's not a fan. I walk out and it's stone dead in the lot

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone want a 4.2 short block for free?

I got it from bump forever ago. It's been wrapped up behind my parent's shed.

Also have a hatch off a '90 XJ if anyone want's that. Dark red color.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm tempted to take the short block :laugh3: maybe if I built a stroker on the side i'd be more likely to buy another jeep? :dunno:

side note: anyone see the fire on beacon street today? last thing I've seen was saying 9 alarms, and one firefighter was trapped in the basement. not sure if it was referring to the same FF, but also a report of someone seeing a fire fighter being brought out and pumping his chest and all that.... fingers crossed for that dude, and the rest of em....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I definitely want this. How many barrels of trash do you want in exchange?

I thought that was a tank style main gun/cannon on the roof for a second until I realized it was part of the building behind it and was very disappointed.

Ooo I have the M715's fat ugly brother and also $600 a month student loan payments. Not really a good trade off.

M725? People keep telling me to get one of those but they do absolutely nothing for me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The 2wd Dodge one was at Everett's in Brockton still when I was there late last week, don't know if that does you any good. They were looking for $150 for it.

I really want it so I can build one for my truck but I'm too lazy to pull it. Standard Gear & Transmission is running a killer special on rebuild kits and some of their other nv4500 parts too.

Finding an nv4500 is way harder when you actually need one.

Found nothing at car-part.com. called every salvage yard within 100 miles that listed a transmission for a 93 to 03 2500 or 3500. (And didn't have it listed as an auto) they were all autos anyway. Craigslist is pretty dry as well. There is a rot box Chevy in Nh with one that needs synchros for $3200 and the next closest is in Albany. Rebuilt units are on eBay for about $1400 to $1600. Remanufactured from say advance adapters is about $2100.

[/WAHHHHHH]

What's your budget? I can pull some strings with the scrap yard we go to for work. My boss says they owe him a favor and I could probably get them to track down a LS version. It wouldn't be dirt cheap, but I'm sure it would be a reasonable price.

I could pick it up in Albany, it's only an hour from me, could get it to eastern mass in early may

Billy I need your number and a time Friday to grab the parts from you

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright I believe my plan is get rid of the Briarwood, get rid of the '01 XJ, and get my dad's TJ.

The 3 speed auto is running on borrowed time. When it comes time for a swap, AX-15 (Jay is selling one now) or NV -blahblah(the 6 speed, usually more expensive)?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ugh so my computer just blue screend 2 time it said its some kind of hardware failure. But the comp restarts before I can read it all. It is getting a little old. But I'm not to happy about this.

I might be down for an Everett's run on Saturday.

You're talking about the NSG370, that's the 6 speed. It will bolt up to an XJ (some will, iirc the bellhousings are cast into the housing and are different for the 2.4L 4 cyl) but I seem to recall the crank sensor being a different mounting style and at like 10 oclock on the bellhousing instead of 1-2 oclock.

Options:
AX15 - internal slave, external slave, TJ/YJ tailhousing, XJ/MJ/ZJ/AN tailhousing. The only difference is the clocking of the bolt pattern for the transfer case and the input bearing retainer + pilot tip diameter etc.
NV3550 - TJs, XJs, AN chassis. AN chassis ones are like XJ ones, TJ ones I think have the tailhousing clocked differently again. They're rated for the same input torque as an AX15 anyways, and command a premium price because everyone thinks they are stronger.
NSG370 - 6 speed, I don't know which ones fit or how, someone else can answer that one.

You could put an AW4 in too, people do that, but **** automatics.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hold down the windows key, hit pause/break, go to the Advanced tab (iirc, I'm on win7 and can't check the XP menu organization), hit the Settings... button under "startup and recovery", uncheck the "automatically restart" box.
