THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

But look at it! It just screams "I'm important" when you slam this bad boy on the counter of the 7/11 gas station.

Lee is going to be bullshit when he finds out you put his card up here.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, I have dibs on Jay's 97 wiring and PCM. I know we talked about why a 98 would work better, but I can't find that info PM or in this thread.. If I swap in the PCM, wiring harness, and cluster from the 97 (manual) to my 01, I should be good to go, right? From what I can find, I think yes. I just wanted to run it by you mr electrical guru.

(your pm box was full)

Should work. Might need to swap a few sensors and resplice the harness a bit where it connects to stuff.

Pull the whole instrument panel and interior harness (at least the front sections) and it will definitely work.

Oh, gonna have to do a little custom work to make the hvac servo still do its thing. One signal wire, power, ground, that's it.

... this is gonna make your 0331 elimination much easier, btw ;)

Finding an nv4500 is way harder when you actually need one.

Found nothing at car-part.com. called every salvage yard within 100 miles that listed a transmission for a 93 to 03 2500 or 3500. (And didn't have it listed as an auto) they were all autos anyway. Craigslist is pretty dry as well. There is a rot box Chevy in Nh with one that needs synchros for $3200 and the next closest is in Albany. Rebuilt units are on eBay for about $1400 to $1600. Remanufactured from say advance adapters is about $2100.

If I find one it has your name on it for whatever I paid plus a sixpack.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Interior harness? Just the front? Is there a bulkhead or would that require snipping and splicing a large bundle? That makes me sad. The rest of it doesn't sound too bad. Are you around this weekend? The XJ is in Ware, not too far from you... ;) there's beer that nearly has your name on it...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am hitting the junkyard Saturday morning and fixing a number of things wrong with the XJ but otherwise I think I am around, not sure.

I think there are connectors for most of it. The whole harness could be swapped but I don't know how much of the interior you want to pull apart.

Remind me tonight and I will see if I can find out for sure how much needs to be swapped. It might just be the engine compartment.

The 2wd Dodge one was at Everett's in Brockton still when I was there late last week, don't know if that does you any good. They were looking for $150 for it.

Ideally none, but that ship has sailed.

Will do.

that was my old jeep :bawl:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony does it make it easier if you take Stefan's 98 stuff and I take Bobs 99 stuff? If so we can make a swap after I get Stefan's stuff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bob's is a 97 I think.

Whoever he sold that jeep to needs to start buying PT Cruisers instead of jeeps. That's the second one he's had murdered by someone else on the road in like a month and a half, and the world needs fewer PT cruisers.

Bob's stuff is not 99, it's 97. What year are you swapping into?

It would be easier for me to use 98 stuff. More things changed 97 - 98 than they did 98-01, from what I have gathered. 98 or 99 would be my ideal years for a swap, but it's not THAT big of a pain to use 97.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pat has a 99. I explained all this to him but when I got to the part about the shark fin he said he was going to post about it anyway.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pat, if you want a manual, Stefan's will be easier for you. If you want an auto, Jay's 99 will be plug and play.
