THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I heard they are doing away with mail boxes. well at least in new developments. there are going to be centralized "mail boxes" for the whole development or road. and you have to go to the end of the road or what ever and pickup your mail.

This is all they do in Cali these days

Uummmmmm I mean a decade ago when I lived there, pretty sure it's still happening.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

To be smart with my tax return to buy coilovers for my jeep that doesn't have a transmission hmm....

Whats cooler? Having a jeep with a completed suspension that You can't drive, or having a jeep that runs and drives but has no front suspension?

Just run coils and wheel this year

That was the original plan. and this year being late in the year.

I would think you'd want 3.0s, Sam.

I was thinking 2.5 for now + maybe a secondary 2.0 later down the road if I want and need it to go mo fast. I really need to weigh it too.

I am hesitant to go the FOA route again, but they are so inexpensive, and the customer service doesn't suck. There are far more people happy with them than not. And my experience was from shocks bought about 4 years ago, I'm told they have made changes to the manufacturing process then.

I might have a hell of a break for you lined up... hint: Colin, what would a 1993 model year D250 with a 5.2 and 8 lug suspension have for a 5 speed manual? Wikipedia leads me to believe it'd be an NV4500. It's cast iron and has PTO ports on both sides... so I'm tempted to believe it.

I know exactly where one is, I saw it at a yard I literally JUST found like two weeks ago out in "the hills have eyes, western mass." No, I'm not saying where it is :eyes:

If it will help your build along I'll grab it next time I get a chance (thinking about taking tomorrow or wednesday off to junkyard hunt) and you can have it for cheap, else I'm getting it and flipping it for 4-5 times what I paid. :greensmok

edit: I might yank the 8 lug passenger drop 44 out of the thing, too, or at least the knuckles out, since it's got flat top knuckles that should be machinable for high steer and I had no idea dodge did an 8 lug 44. It'd go well with something I'm working on, if I don't do something even more retarded.

Novak says otherwise...

Ah, for some reason I thought there was an LS series bellhousing available for the dodge ones.

You would end up needing to change out the input shaft and bearing retainer at least, and probably the mainshaft splines are wrong too (I dunno what Sam's t-case situation is).

(I had to do both of those things and you might as well rebuild the whole trans while you're in there)

32 spline np241. 6 bolt.

A 99-06 Chevy nv4500 would be the most ideal. Think Adam would notice If i put an ancient 4 speed in his truck?

Wow, that sucks.

Alright, I'll get him the carbed 318 too. It'll be just as cool as the 6.0, right? :confused1

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I understand not wanting to spend big money on coilovers Sam.

But take it from me, not something to skimp on

The difference is FOA customer service doesn't blow lol. I know fox is the cool thing to do, but yea... $$$.

I'd probably go 2.5s all the way around.

Your steering will limit you way before those would.

I wont be touching the rear for the time being. But as I'm building this axle I keep thinking to myself "Why would I put coil springs on it to save a buck now? I just gotta chop all that crap off soon anyway"

Then I would move my 7100's to the rear, and sell my brandy new jeep coils and mint 14" 5100's to some XJ guy wanting sick flex for his radius arms.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pat I'm going to get the tires tomorrow if you wanted to give your aunt a heads up. I have to swing by our facility in Sudbury so I'll grab them around 2:30ish.
