what transmission do i want?

i require:
-bolts behind a chevy v-8 with a 4 bolt main
-can withstand roughly 450 horse and 450 ft/lbs, one tons, big tires and rev limiter without issue
-an overdrive

im still torn on wether or not i want a standard or automatic. but if i get a standard i must be able to run a hydraulic clutch cheaply and easily. and if i get an automatic, i must be able to get a standalone computer for it for cheap/nothing.

IIRC I didn't get a shipping notification for my last order. Granted my order was delayed for a while since some parts were out of stock when I called them to place the order but either A) they didn't give me a shipping notification at all or B) I got the notification late and the package arrived the same day (or the day after) I got the email w/ tracking info.

i should also add. if a standard, i want quick, smooth shift action. not sure how the nv4500 racks up on that.

shifting the sm465 is like having sex with a hooker. you can get it in, but it flops around a lot and takes time to find the right spot

I've driven both NP435 (very similar to SM465 I'd imagine) and the NV4500 in my truck.

Doesn't even compare.

Shorter throw, smoother synchros = quicker shifts.

I can shift as fast as I can move the lever. Just ask Carmelo/Dundy.

Not to mention you don't have to double clutch to get it into 1st/reverse (NP435 = non-synchro'd 1st/reverse)

It's more expensive sure, but definitely a nicer all around trans.

Next time I see you I'll take you for a ride and show you.

Also, what I'd bet you're experiencing, is the fact that there is no tension on the 1-2 shift fork. Basically, you can flop the shifter from side to side in neutral.

That makes the 2-3 shift hard to find since you can't just "follow" it back to neutral, then just go up to 3.

Way better than any of the cast-iron 4-speeds, for sure. The one in my XJ shifted awesome.

If you use a Gen 2 small block you can adapt the Dodge NV4500 to a GM bellhousing.

If your balls fall off and you decide to go with an auto, 700R4 by itself or 4L60 with a manual valve body (~$300) is probably the way to go. RMVB is BA.

edit: 700R4 by itself requires a TV cable/kickdown arrangement or else it'll fry. I'd just do a RMVB anyway.

Chris' nv4500 shifted real nice, a lot better than I thought it would. Slamming gears in that thing dodging junked cars in a tight course at night with barely there headlights is something I'll miss... That stroker sounds MEAN.

if you are fed up with thier bullshit you first need to delete her on the fbks then piss them off to the point they say they are going to kill themselves. and make sure they are only saying it to get your attention and arent sirius. then when they explain in detail about how they are going to kill themselves, ignore them. in about an hour they will come back to you telling you how you dont care if they were dead. you continue to ignore them. but post a facebook status update explaining how people who threaten to kill themselves for attention are pathetic. but dont mention her name. then when 30 of your friends like that status some of your mutual friends will see it and she will catch wind of it then call you screaming at you. and in a calm, collected voice you tell her that you want nothing to do with her and that she will be fine. tell her you will delete that status update if she will agree to go away.

I've never hung out with her, and she only talks to me via texts. he sends smillies, winks, and hearts on a daily basis and calls me her best friend.

Maybe it's 'cause my "game" is from the 1930's, but why can't you just tell her to leave you alone and leave the whole interwebs and phone thing out of it?
