I play "Defender" when I'm laying in bed or dropping a deuce.

Just looked this up...I would lose interest in that very quickly.

Right now I'm trying to puzzle out the type of wood used to make violin bows...I find that much more interesting than a storm-the-castle game. :laugh:

Anyone have any NP231 input shafts lying around?

Curious if there's any difference between the 23-spline 231/241 input shafts other than gear cut/input bearing width.

Dundy, I called to see if you could get me (3) 710058 Timken Seals.

It looks like it's the same as a 30RH output seal (probably T904 trans).

I really hope I get a couple days, or maybe even the whole week, off next week so I can gear/assemble the 60. I just showed my dad which dail style torque wrench I need from Grainger yesterday as a hint. He had looked around before and said he couldn't find one for under $400, I found it for like $175.

Curious if there's any difference between the 23-spline 231/241 input shafts other than gear cut/input bearing width.

Pretty sure I have at least a few. I kept re-using mine whenever I had to replace the 231 housing. Do you know what length it needs to be?

Also are you still gonna need that diesel input?

No idea on the length yet. Do you have an auto and a manual one? I think I need a 5" length one or something. I could give ya back whatever I don't use.

I don't NEED the diesel input, but if you want to part with it I wouldn't mind holding onto it if for some unknown reason mine explodes.

I didn't know if you'd already gotten a clutch disc for the 1-1/4" input size or not. I'm certainly never gonna use it.

I only know this shit because I've been researching it in order to save ~$100 :laugh:. I figured guys were putting 241 planetaries into 231s, so why couldn't I use the input shaft in mine. Turns out they use the same input bearings/seals and shit.

If I do 23-spline stuff, and score a cheap input gear for the 241, then I only have to buy the doubler kit ($600) and cast iron adapter ($200) instead of all the other shit adding up to an additional $800.

Nah, not buying clutch crap for a while since I don't need it yet. Probably end of January. Going to get an organic/ceramic mix that should be good for up to 500HP. But yeah if you have no need for it, I wouldn't mind holding onto it.
