THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just found out I can use a Chevy NP241 and swap inputs to a Dodge one as well.

Found one on CL for $100.

Awesome.

Just found out that I have to use a Chevy clutch disc when I use the Advance Adapters trans adapter to mate a Dodge NV4500 to a Ford small block bellhousing.

edit: Also using a Ford throwout arm & bearing, starter, and flywheel redrilled for the 3.0V6 crank pattern with an adapter pilot bushing for the Dodge 0.75" pilot tip. All this mated to the motor with another adapter plate converting the 3.0V6 to a small block Ford pattern.

If this shit works, I think brains will explode.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

we should all hire Billy to go to swapmeets and buy stuff for our jeeps.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yours is definitely more of a clusterXXXX than mine

I wish I trusted a T5. That'd be easy as shit.

There's a rare factory bellhousing to match the 3.0V6 to a T5, but even if I gotta go to the small-block pattern, they used a shit-ton of those behind Mustang 5.0s and I'd just run a Jeep T5 that came factory with a Dana 300 on it.

Then I'd also lose the granny 1st gear.

Any thoughts/experiences with this?

I don't know shit about bolting transmissions to engines but would a SM420 or SM465 be easier? SM420 has a 7.05:1 1st gear according to Novak.

Those are old 4 speeds that shift like an NP435.

No way is Chris going to want that. He's a spoiled nancy.

:D

Don't plenty of 5.0 guys run more power than you are through them? Are the Ford versions any different than the Jeep versions as far as case/gears/bearings/outputs?

Wouldn't be a bad idea to run it through a doubler. Could you keep your 231/300 doubler and just slap it on the back of it?

My one buddy has a mildly built 5.0 and has gone through 5 in the last year.

He drives the shit out of it, but it's not like I'm gonna be gentle either.

This is nice:

I guess a NV3500 wouldn't be a bad way to go either...I'll have to play with the ratios and see how it ends up.

I could absolutely sell my NV4500 with the Jeep bellhousing and 231 tailhousing adapter to travis, and buy a good NV3550 and all adapter plates, and have money left over.

XXXX.

Jeep 6-speed would be badass...

Novak makes a kit to mate the NSG370 to a Chevy small block.

Advance Adapters makes a kit to mate a Chevy auto trans to a Ford small block.

Wonder if those two would play nicely together with a clutch in the middle...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that site kicks ass.

It doesn't have the spicery 6352 in it, but I just finally found the info I needed anyways (after a lot of googling.) 1st=7.31, 2nd=4.08, 3rd=2.41, 4th=1.43, 5th=1.00, Rev=7.33.

I guess in low range my final drive ratio is 97.9. Transfer case is a bit weak at 2.08 but everything else is great. At the redline in low range that works out to ~25.5rpm... 3.5mph.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

airgas fills my argon tank for $25 more with 50 more psi. They also give me a free pen.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

man i cant wait to mate my NP231 SYE to my NP231. Then im going to mate my grand cherokee v8 driveshaft to it. BADDASS!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I like how close the ratios are on the six speed...this motor would love short gears like that. And 5:1 on the low end is pretty cool too.

Dan @ Ruffstuff is using an SHO motor in a sand rail project, he built a custom adapter plate to mate it to a C4. Wonder if he'd have any interest in helping me out with this...

Really liking this 6 speed idea.

I see you Travis. Be patient, ya jackass. :D

edit: holy $$$.
