damn, he must have a hell of a tolerance built up.Scary part is, none of us had any idea. Based on his roadside sobriety tests, the cop's assessment was low 10's.
.08 really, really doesn't take much.
Key word highlighted.
You *could* do it, but it would suck, be rough as shit, in no way competitive, and probably not even fun.
Obviously I'm building this thing with a bias towards hauling ass, but I do plan on rec wheeling with it too as much as possible. No reason at all why it won't be a fun, capable trail rig.
all you gots on a 95 clockspring is cruise and horn anyways, rig the horn to a pushbutton on the dash if you give a crap :dunno:i also destroyed the old clockspring, but it dosnt bother me, if it was my choice all elec would be gone except what runs the motor and lights

Ugh.
I want to go pick up that NV4500 in case it sells, but I don't want to regret not waiting and finding a diesel version at the same price.
I hate buying/selling stuff.
I wonder what'll break first? From your questions earlier I'd bet on the transfer case or doubler input bearings or transmission input/mainshaft bearings :roflmao:
Where'd you find those prices Chris?
that reminds me.
I can't XXXXing wait till I finish (well, start) my 2.5L/AX5/NP231/D30/D35 ghetto redneck buggy on 33s. I have all the parts now except the front axle and an assload of 2" poop pipe.
Oh, and need to figure out springs and shocks. It's gonna be light as hell.
in the land of the non-whiners. explains how you couldn't find it.
I'm aiming to be able to tow it with my MJ.id really like to do something like that eventually. single seater pwnage machine and built with all cheap parts.and can be towed behind a corolla
Debating on deleting the doubler and swapping in a 6.34:1 first gear set from a Chevy trans.
That would give me about 80:1 crawl, which is about equivalent to my XJ at 90:1 due to the larger tires, which is about what my 2nd gear in low-low is.
Exploding planetaries, driveline length, and NP231 housings cracking are all reasons to do this. Plus the D300 will bolt right up by itself with a clocking ring.
Guess I'll hafta wait until I can get everything laid out in the chassis.

So far I have $50 into the parts, for the trans and transfer case I bought off Nick. Motor came from your/colin's MJ, rearend from mine... the 30 I have but it's 3.07 geared, so I'll probably use the 3.55 geared one out of either my MJ (i.e. another of your old parts) or the one out of the 98 whenever I pull that one.
I think I can keep it under 500 bucks for the whole thing including poop pipe. And thrash the absolute piss out of it.
