man i cant wait to mate my NP231 SYE to my NP231. Then im going to mate my grand cherokee v8 driveshaft to it. BADDASS!

I'm hoping my SYE will show up sometime soonish so I can put it in while I do all the other changes to my jeep. might as well change everything at once!

I like how close the ratios are on the six speed...this motor would love short gears like that. And 5:1 on the low end is pretty cool too.

Dan @ Ruffstuff is using an SHO motor in a sand rail project, he built a custom adapter plate to mate it to a C4. Wonder if he'd have any interest in helping me out with this...

Really liking this 6 speed idea.

Just giving you a hard time...whatever, if anything, you end up selling, let me know and I'll let you know what kind of cash I have at the time. Then you can say "X Y and Z parts are worth that much money to me." Then I'll say "hmmm. ok sold." then we'll meet up and swap parts and cash. This is how I envision our transaction going down.

that's the 6-speed 4.0 trans right? I saw one for 500 bucks at stafford swapmeet. Considered buying it, but decided not to... it did have intact gears as far as I could tell, might have needed synchros but seemed good otherwise.

They say the NV3550 is stronger then the AX15, but the NSG370 is weaker then the NV3550. But it does have that nice low 1st gear.

Novak is usually pretty conservative, but they list their NSG370-to-LS motor adaptation as one of their more successful ones. Meanwhile, they don't support shit forr the T5, which came behind plenty of V8s.

Currently doesn't look like there's much of a way to make it work though, unless Dan's got something up his sleeve. That'd be a great match to that motor...hmmph.

Novak rates the NV3550 Mfg torque rating at 300ft/lbs and the NSG370 at 272ft/lbs. They also say the AX15 and NV3550 have about the same rating too.

Should be picking up a reasonably clean 89 4 door soon in trade for swapping the lift onto the owners other xj. Its reasonably clean, so if anyone is interested let me know, otherwise its getting scrapped, After I pull the brand new titan stroker out of it that the guy is convinced is junk because the jeep sat for 3 years.

My only warning is that i've heard those transmissions are gay. Not a problem if you figure out how to keep the gayness in check, or completely remove it. It sure would suck to be racing down a course in first place only to have your transmission whip out it's dick in front of your face and spiz all over your visor. God knows you can hardly keep yourself from driving into trees as it is, never mind if you couldn't see.

I test drove some more cars today, including a truck. It was nice knowing the owner's son/future owner of the Subaru-Chevy dealer, because you get to test drive the cars that are already sold, or fresh off the truck and not even allowed to drive on the road yet.

I did test drive a camaro like you suggest Chris, wasn't a huge fan. The 16/20 mpg of the trucks just won't do it for me unfortunately.

I think I'm probably going to end up with a Subaru Imprezza wagon.

Sorry, new off the truck and wasn't allowed to drive due to a recall with the master cylinder. It stopped fine though. The guy I was with, I knew him. My bro went through school with him, and I knew him from always hanging around with my brother, he wasn't just some random sales dude trying to BS me like the Honda dealer that has called my house every day for a week so far since I took the test drive last Friday.

New. New Imprezas get much better gas mileage, are a little more peppier, and I think look better.
