Yeah I haven't been on much shocked... and when I have been on I haven't felt like posting (double :shocked

They've kept me pretty busy at work- no more time for the interwebz, but that's fine. I'm doing cool stuff in the machine shop.

edit: then when I get home (most of the time) I also don't feel like using the computer, herego my lack of recent posts.

anyone here good with computers and being willing to clean one up for me? i gotta Dell laptop thats a few years old and it runs like shit

What's a few years old? Until I upgraded my laptop to handle windows 7(and then some) I always reformatted everything with tinyxp. Even it was brand new it would make it faster versus a dell installation of windows.

I love old missle silos. Theres one out in the midwest that was converted into a school. Theres another thats been completely flooded for recreational diving (Atten Mark). Ive seen a couple others converted into eqaully cool houses.

middle of nowhere, no idiots around to bug me: CHECK
lots of space for a machine shop: oh yes.
airstrip in case I decide to build an airplane, or turn it into a drag strip: yup

Why can't you drag race your car on the same strip that you use as a runway? :dunno:

you can. you just need to tell the FAA / nearest air traffic control if it's Colin's MJ on the strip

(and since it's an uncontrolled airstrip, you need to make sure no one is trying to land or take off before doing so)

On that note, anyone need a big compressor or forklift thingy? PM me and I'll get pictures/info tonight for you. Compressor is a 2 rotary motor with a decent tank and all kinds of filters and driers.

Specs on the compressor & cost? 240V? Single phase or three phase? CFM @ max pressure? Probably too expensive for me to swing right now anyway.

If that lift was for more than 1000 pounds and/or was like 1/2 the price I'd be driving up right now to get it.
