That shouldered bolt is the key. A normal bolt isn't held to very tight tolerances and the lengths of the smooth section vary. The shouldered part is machined specifically to fit these bearing= ZERO play. Not to mention it's a lot nicer looking. :spin1:
HEAVY wall dom chunks for the two smaller holes, drilled and tapped for 1/2" socket head cap screws to match. The setback I ran into was this shoulder bolt was 3-1/2", going to have to go with 4" to get the correct spacing with the tube so that the tube ends up being 3-5/8" long. This gives a good weld area for using something like 2x3 rectangular tube. As it is now it's just barely over 3" and welding on the edge of the tube isn't that strong plus makes it easier to burn through it, scrapping it. We'll have it nailed down by next week for sure! Better because I'm needing it!!!
Ya, I figured it would be nice to get some of the gear inside if it started raining. I guess I overshot a little. :twak:wow, thats a serious tent. I was thinking about buying one of those 2 person cot tents.
Ross, I think you could make that pretty simply for a few bucks in good bearings and the bolt.I soo cant wait for this to become available
sweet! looks like a tranformer or something!I bought this today for camping/wheelin

[hillybilly voice]i just wasted way too much time playing halo...
anyone doin any good wheelin this weekend?
i put the jeep sideways around a tight corner today in the rain, locker kicked in, it was fun, i also experienced body roll.
That reminds me of drifting all the corners on the roads leading to the M&G because I didn't have my hubs locked in. That was fun.
