THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Use the factory A/C lines, cut them somewhere in the soft portion of the line, and use a barbed fitting w/hose clamp.

Now I have to hook him up again. Pulling them for faggot tomorrow off a zj I have at the shop.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Has anyone here ever had luck pushing aluminum mig wire? ie: not using a spool gun?

I'm thinking about trying to fill the hole on my SV's head and redrill/tap a fresh one. I might end up bringing it to a welding shop for this. I think it's going to be the most structurally sound way to do it. Then maybe I'd install Keensert studs.

If you find out how much a welding shop would want let me know... my buddy works does welding and he may be able to get you a better deal.

I haven't talked to him in quite some time (ever since he started doing lots of drugs and shit) but I just ran into him the other day and apparently he got arrested or something and had to clean up. seems to be doing pretty well now so I could try and get his # and find out what type of price he could get for you or if that's something he could do.

We use that same Quiksteel stuff here at work all the time to repair stuff like that, it works great. I wouldn't worry about it...it's only an exhaust flange, right?

Plus, good luck getting all that out of there now...even if you wanted to weld it, that Quicksteel isn't going to come out too easily. Pushing aluminum wire works with a good teflon liner and keeping the path as straight as possible but you'll need pure argon for the shielding gas. If I were going to add material back I'd probably braze it instead of trying to use a spool gun/MIG.

That quicksteel stuff had the consistency of HDPE after it's 1 hour cure time.... It came out extremely easily and was not that hard at all. Neither was the small ball of leftovers. That's why I ended up tapping it to the M10x1.25. The M8x1.25 threads in the quicksteel sucked. The hole was clean and dry when the putty went in so I'm really not sure why it didn't work. I've heard good things about it from others too.

So I'll definitely not bother with the aluminum mig wire. My liner is on the worn out side of things.

I hadn't considered brazing, but that is a good idea. Thanks.

Scott, Thanks I'll let you know.
