I've just had 0 time to play with it so far.

I have to set it back up with the motor/pully crap and get a new belt for it I think.

You might need to make a belt, to be honest. A regular rubber belt doesn't work. They're leather belts held together with what's called catgut and some stiff wire through the leather. I believe there is a more modern thing to use instead of catgut, but you still have to join the two ends.

Guy said he used a v-belt and it worked tits.

I wonder how he installed it. Usually both pulleys are supported by bearings on both ends of the shafts. I wonder if he took it apart to install the Belt. In your first picture, it does look like it has v-grooves (rather than big flat pulleys for a flat leather belt).

I don't care if it's original or not and no it doesn't suck.

The guy said a v-belt works so I'm going to slap one on it and then make cool stuff.

I guess. It's gonna suck if you start using it and breaking belts. A new belt should be a 5 minute or less job.

I'm thinking the v-belt was someone's fix and that it did in fact originally come with a flat leather belt.

It's hard to argue with the price though.

I don't give a rats ass if it was originally designed for a flat belt that I have to make. Someone could have swapped the pulleys, someone could have put a v-belt on instead, I DON'T CARE.

If I can run to autozone and grab the right length v-belt for $5, I'm doing that and spending my time using the tool, not fixing it.

I was just tellin' you how it was originally supposed to work and why. I think it's going to take longer to install a continuous belt than you think.

Replace the damn belt with duct tape and pantyhose and start using it

Discovered this morning that I ripped my horn off and slightly bent my inner Cs on Saturday. Not sure how I managed the horn, it was up behind the bumper...

rebuilt the carb on the ktm.

now it runs BEAST.

i rode my old 200 2 stroke the other day

the 640 makes it feel so much mroe bitch than i remembered

i just wish the 640 weighed lesss

i should be getting my new ignition parts for my xr70 tomorrow.

we'll race sam, i'll win. you just have to stay in neutral and push the 640.
