You could do it with bevel gears and a couple well placed supports :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't notice your lines were a problem. Can use you a spring like I did and pull them back and up? You'd need a longer line, but the bend radius would be larger.

Not the best pic, you can kinda see how they run:

They're right under the oil pan, then up to the steering box like this:

Then picture all that smooshed 5" closer together. I don't think there's really any other way to run them.

I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I do have a set of field-serviceable 45* fittings for the ram end. I think if I set them up pointing towards the passenger side it'll help a little.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nah, I've really only spent time fixing stuff that was actually busted, just to get it moving around and usable again.

Once I finish the maintenance related stuff (motor mounts, front bumpstop, etc) that'll probably be the next project.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's nice, but yours steers pretty good now doesn't it?

nopeeee.

I would.

That was the one thing that annoyed me about my XJ. I couldn't steer when I wanted to.

Constantly rocking it to get my tires pointed where I wanted them.

yupppp.

This just reminded me I have lockwashers on my motor mount bolts.

I should probably lose those too.

Are you gunna build its own crossmember for the brace? Or maybe build something off of the TB brace you already have/had?

 clue me in on this one... maybe I just missed it somewhere. But how could those cause a problem there?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mechanical locking blah blah blah

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

is that like link mounts on the axle centerline = 'infinate' forces?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No they're just not as tolerant as locknuts apparently. Chris figured that out the hard way.

And they're holding my freakin engine in place.

I heard he did. But I'd think that some sort of locking device would be better than nothing at all. :dunno:
