Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WTF, I was trying to accomplish work and the arbor for the hole saw sheered itself in half. Now I have to go to HD to buy my dad a new one and buy myself a milwaukee kit.

did the arbor break or just the drill bit? if you broke the arbor, you were doing something wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Travis, you HAVE to get that jeep running. Isn't it the official "pulls everyone in NAC out" jeep for the snow run?

I'd bet on something screwy with the ignition switch or the battery wiring.

If the drill bit broke that woulda been an easy fix with a new bit. The arbor sheered off in the jaws of the collet on the bridgeport. It didnt even have much force on it, it was one of those clean breaks without reason. The hole saw didnt even catch an edge.

Haha, it wouldn't have broke if there wasn't much force on it.

Why did you have an arbor in a collet, anyway? Those are 6 sided and should go in chucks.

Thats the thing I didnt have much force on it, I went to back off the hole saw to add some more cutting oil and the hole saw just fell off.

The arbor was in my R8 chuck to collet adapter thingy ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wait, correction, first test is grab a big blunt object and smack the starter a couple times.

This is not the first as it can damage the started so I hear. Start with wiring/solenoid before you start wailing the starter with a heavy object.

If it hasn't been mentioned check the voltage at the started with the key on. It should be atleast 11.5v and atleast 10.5 while cranking IIRC. If that's not case your problem would lie elsewhere.
