i did go check out that deuce and a half, thing was pretty sweet. i won't buy it though, i need a truck but something that will be a little more practical. i'd have to call that thing a toy, and it would certainly be another money pit that i don't have time to mess around with. guy has been getting like 20mpg on the sucker though, on used motor oil and shit he gets for free - which is pretty awesome.

one of the service supervisors at work apparently rolled his truck yesterday, which makes me really sad. thing was a realll nice, black, CTD 2500. i have a real good feeling they are going to total it out, and i may try to sly my way into buying it off them if possible and fixing it up. pics to come soon

edit: this is the truck:

the bed side looks terrible, the rest looks bolt-on or bondo-able. Did it hit the roof at all? Body tweaked? How the hell did he manage to do that?

I have a few stupid things to fix on the XJ (corner light since I gotta pass inspection, floor welding if I feel like it, gas tank vent hose, tc linkage if I feel like it) and it seems like no one is planning on wheeling next weekend.

Oh and Keith, my XJ un-jynxed itself, the CEL went off again on my way home. It started glaring at me shortly after you asked if my jeep blew up and did so the whole weekend, I don't think it liked being beat on very much. Too bad hasta

EDIT: sun's shining here in Hudson too, only hope it continues. I have yet another house to look at and moar jeep to repair.

Heated garages are overrated... I would kill for an air conditioned garage though.

Precipitation doesn't stop me if the temp is right, nor does cold weather. Hot weather will stop me dead, I just can't stand it. I must have sweated off at least 3lbs the day I pulled the new d30 for my friend Kris' 92 XJ.

Ken, Ian claims to have DW. And he says he checked everything and nothing is loose. I told him that he missed something, check again. I bet that front end is all original (ball joints, TRE, unit bearings, everything) and now that it's being used again it's wearing out super fast.

I'd bet on that too.

I didn't inspect the frontend very carefully but the rest of the vehicle was pretty rusty and worn, I would bet on you being correct.

I'd be interested in seeing if he actually has death wobble or just some tire shimmy, also.

Agreed on all counts. I had asked him if his tires were skidding and he said no. I told him "Then that's not DW." He insists it's crazy and he has to hold onto the wheel with 2 hands... :doh: Kids these days... I asked if he checked the trac bar mount and joint and he said "what's that?" but claims to have layed under and watched for clunks... :wow:
