THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a fuel pump/filter (actually a whole tank/pump/filter) that I am picked up from Bump's latest part-out and the filter on that looks pretty new. My tank is getting a bit rusty so I am going to swap that in the cleaner tank/etc this wkend I think, hopefully that fixes the problem.

And the MJ is going OK I suppose... the guy bought an 8.8 off bump and bump thought it was a 4.10 axle. He cleaned all the perches and stuff off and when we cracked it open to check the spline count we quickly realized it didn't have 4.10s  So we are figuring that one out now. He also picked up a good D30 with 4.10s since the front axle was trashed as well, T-case seems OK. No clue what the current status is; the guy took this week off to get some stuff done, and the MJ was near the top of the to-do list last I heard. For all I know he already has the front axle swapped in and is shopping for a 4.10 8.8... maybe he already did that and it's rolling :dunno:
whats the ratio on the 8.8 he has now? if its 3.55 I may be interested!
Sorry to hear the d30 was junk too, I thought the ears were shot from the u-joints blowing up, and needed new shafts, glad to hear its coming together though!

Gonna see what parts I have in my misc Renix box, and maybe tinker a little with my mj.

Is it bad that when its running chitty all I really feel like doing is a brakestand until something breaks?:scottm:
I think I need to wheel soon, too much pent up aggression.

careful when you do, that's how I ended up ripping my front axle out (would have happened anyways probably) and nearly rolling ~30min into the trip.

My new axle is much better than the old one though.

I'm pretty sure cmelo is on Colin's trailer, and on trail 10.

I don't think it was 3.55, IIRC it was something like 3.23 or somewhere between 3.07 and 3.55. I will text him and ask him if he remembers or cares to check it. (FWIW it is a 31-spline axle).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Leave it in the field.

Each club has a designated area, and you can leave whatever you want in that area (within reason). Trucks/trailers have a separate area.

Friday night will be a sh1tshow, I can't wait.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So the president of the company told everyone to leave after lunch... problem is that half the engineers didn't go out to the lunch so they didn't hear that, the other half have the mentality of "I got too much to do so I can't leave early anyway". So I am stuck here even though people were told to go home early :smsoap: damn overachievers.

I didn't know the 8.8 (from explorers) even came in anything numerically below 3.55. It's possible, and it probably does in Mustangs/Crown Vics/anything else the axle comes in, just hadn't heard of it. I'd bet on it being 3.73.

how exactly?

and no biggie Scott, prob wouldnt be able to buy anything for a few more weeks anyway.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

3 foot ledge everyone was screwing around on... my LCA mount was already broken in half (from too much rust + a hill climb) and I said screw it, I can't drive home anyways, may as well have a bit more fun. Got up the ledge, nearly rolled because it dropped off steeply on the other side, slammed on the brakes then the gas, at one point my rear wheels were a couple feet in the air. When I came to rest I no longer had a passenger side UCA mount, my pinion yoke and U-joint were FUBAR, and one of my tires had blown a bead.

I guarantee my mom's grand marquis has like 2.76s in it or something close to it.

Cruised down to providence with Carmelo at 100 mph without even straining the thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just checked and some site I googled had gears for 3.08, 3.27, 3.31, 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10. I know 4.56s and 4.88s are available aftermarket and it looks like 2.73 is in fact available for ford/lincoln/mercury.

I just didn't know explorers (if the 8.8 from steve?/scott/steve/bump's MJ came from an explorer) came with gears that high.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wow, I'd never seen it before :dunce: only 3.55s, 3.73s (most common) and 4.10s.
