THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Scott - yeah, my mom used to do that with my stuff... Moved out and everyone is happier for it.

Sam - tomorrow, in front of basspro shops by patriot place, look for the jeeps

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I'm really trying to move out sooner than later. The one place I was looking at in Charlton is iffy; plenty of land, price seems OK for what it is, but the garage area is only one car and seems like it doesn't have room for anything other than one car so working in there would be tight. The other place I was looking at is right near home here and has a garage & workshop (sounds like it has 220V out there too) but I would rather not live on the south coast. Just incase I do lose my job, if I am out toward central MA I could travel to places in RI, CT, down toward the south coast, or toward the north shore, boston, western MA, etc... where I am now I am kinda limited to anywhere between boston and providence... seems like I could commute to more locations from central MA and threfore open up more possible jobs

I wanted to go to the show tomorrow but I will be down in providence driving my family home from the train station. So looks like I gotta try and make it in 2 weeks.

Edit: And Sam, IIRC the show starts at 4 or so (give or take an hour) and goes until people leave or it gets dark

Anthony, weren't you looking for one of these? Wonder if this is junk or not. http://southcoast.craigslist.org/tls/1852274870.html

the patent date on it is 1930. it's awesome. i'm going to rig up an electrolytic rust removal system and paint it nice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

FIFY :eyes:

I'm gonna see if I can bail out of work a bit earlier this time.

Nice. In that case I think I am going to call the guy tomorrow. I will be drivign right by swansea and may pick it up on my way to providence tomorrow.

I think I am going to do the eletrolytic rust removal on my bike's gas tank this winter. When I cleaned the carbs earlier in the summer they were pretty dirty and it def looked like it could have been from rust (plus looking in the tank did seem to kinda confirm my suspicion, but idk how bad it is in there). Hopefully it works well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yup so out of all the stuff I needed walmart only had carb and choke cleaner.

Though I did find velveeta mac and cheese with bacon... so I suppose I can overlook Walmarts lack of car stuff this once.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmmm, first attempt at the gas tank didnt work out the way i wanted it. time to eat food, drink beer, acquire 1x1, and start over before it gets dark and buggy out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Eh, progress today was iffy for me though I did sleep in and veg out until 11AM. :rof: Started getting the bumper lined up but I really want a 2nd set of hands to hold it in place while I mock everything up before I burn th brackets home as opposed to me bolting it up and taking it down a couple times on my own, just a convenience thing. Got the gear oil changed (about down time), I just want a 2nd set of hands to help lift the 3rd member into place. Got motorcycle back in running order, checked out the ebrake and started to figure out why it suddenly got super weak one day. Tomorrow I get to focus on the bumpers, and it's super awesome because I got the OK to keep the Jeep in the garage until Sunday

Edit: I think I might have to cut up my floor that I just welded in sooner or later and move my gas tank up, aka whenever I man up and buy a new gas tank (since idk how much more life mine has in it; not leaking yet and seems to be mostly surface rust, knock on wood). Will probably end up using the rest of the 18ga that I got for the floors to box it in and seal it up to keep the fumes out. I want to take another look at how y'all are doing it (though I think I know what you're doing).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin how did that FTR meeting go? Club still going? I talked to Tom and I will have them on Sun. and will drop them off on Mon. probably during work.

Went well, not much progress to report of. Everyone is really busy with stuff, Chris doesn't have a tow rig, Ryan is on a lot of travel for work, Eric just got a new house, and Greg just got a new job.

I think I might still renew next year if these guys are still around. Awesome to hang out with and I had a blast per usual.

1. Rust. Lots of rust.
2. Doubler = torque. leaf springs don't like torque
3. Define "Simple" :scottm:
4. I'm budgetting 2 yrs time.

1. Yeah on the rails and floors? Replace them? You're stiffening the thing anyway
2. Traction bar. Join me
3. Protect just the passenger compartment (i.e. 4-point)
4. Way more than I want to devote to mine. I want to be wheeling NACfest 2011.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You have no idea how pissed I am I have to give up a year to build this stupid thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
