:shhh: theyre slowly being phased out. they do work bitchin for clearencing stock shafts for full circle clips though

i dont really know what there is for cool files out there, but my trusty true value has some nice made in usa ones that are spiffy that i like.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im thinkin that way and if i really dislike it i can swap it out for a lockrite down the road

that was my original thought, although i doubt ill wanna rip the entire axle/carrier apart just to go from a spool to a locker.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I noticed last weekend that my harbor freight cutoff discs say they contain chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer...

... I'm really hoping they don't have asbestos or something in them :shiver:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You've got a point, but it specifically noted the use of a breathing mask was important due to this. Scared the crap out of me because I know I've inhaled far more of that dust than I should have, I never noticed the warning before. It's about time I picked up a NIOSH approved mask... won't find out for about 20 years if it's too late or not, though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow, I want that too. I was looking around for a tube bender for a while (well I was a while back when I was going to make my own bumper/tire carrier, then I bought bumpers). That's not a bad price.

edit: D70, free is a good price :dunno: http://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/1721528263.html

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so seeing how i can't move my jeep two inches without the front end locking up, would it be an intelligent idea to remove the front DS, remove the axleshafts, leaving the hubs obviously, and drive it like that?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

remove the DS and inner shafts, but be sure to leave the stub shafts in and torqued to spec so the bearing doesnt fall apart

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That would work. You also need to leave the stub/outer shafts in, or your wheels will fall off, and you should jam a sock or a rag or something into each axle tube to keep moisture out.

NO! you need the stubs shafts installed in the hubs to keep the hubs together

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yes yes stub shafts would stay in obviously

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You need the outer shafts to stay in the hubs so they don't fall apart. Other than that you'll be fine doing that.
