what in blue hell

why the xxxx did he put his license plate mounting at an angle?

:looney:lastara:huh::jester:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It screws on - there is a jam nut at the bottom of the knob.
I actually found a pic somewhere from a guy with a TJ. It doesn't actually screw on with a jam nut. You gotta pop off the shift pattern cap and there is a nut inside which holds the shift knob itself on.

Clearly all the cool kids do that. :doh: But every time I see something like that I wonder just how much can you rotate the plate before it becomes illegal? Can you rotate it 90 degrees? What about 145? Or how about just go and flip it upside down...

And I really think that car should be on the jetsons or something, Or have a satellite dish on the roof (or on that spoiler thing)

The one I pulled off at the junkyard has a jam nut, and the picture in the 91-93 parts catalog shows a jam nut... maybe the TJ is different.

Interesting. I have the one that I cut off at the all you can carry and it def doesn't seem to have a jam nut.I will look at it tonight. Maybe I was just half asleep the last time I looked at it but I am pretty sure I wouldn't overlook something like a jam nut.

Edit: On 2nd thought I'm not sure what year XJ I got the shift knob out of. It could defiantly be that I got a shift knob from a later model XJ and that's why it isn't a jam nut setup.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damnit. I just got a call from a recruiter looking for someone for a position up in Burlington. The company was looking for someone to do embedded kernel work. I don't have much experience in that area but nothing I couldn't learn, right?

I hate the idea about using a recruiter (my buddy got a job through a recruiter and was laid off a few months later cause the company was just looking for temp help) but I kindof think I might have to give him a call back later and find out what company he is recruiting for and exactly what type of work I would be doing. If I was working up that way I could move further north, likely into NH. I did want to stay with the company I am at now for another 6 months to a year, but this is tempting.

Good point, I'm pretty sure it was that red 97+ you were gonna pull fenders off of before you remembered the black 97+ over near the gate.

I just got a voicemail from the recruiter saying "a company in Burlington MA". Like I said I am going to call him back later about it and try to get more details. If I don't jump on it I will let him know that I have someone who might be interested if you want.

the dude got his foot outta the cast and now hes jsut trying to find enough work to keep himself busy so i havent work with him a few weeks. im still getting some wheel time in the bigass boom truck here and there on the weekends, we go for a drive and practice shifting and such.

im still waiting to hear back from the guy that wanted the cage built for the back of his dump truck too, that would be a pretty penny on the side too.
