THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so I just got to my hotel and spent a good 20 minutes trying to hack the stupid wifi that wanted a username and password on the login screen... tried all the standard stuff, set my IP to the same as the proxy server's public address, evaded dns spoofing, tried disabling dhcp and setting it myself, tried sql injection on the login screen, etc etc. No go.

... then it turned out the username was "econo" and the password was "lodge" when I asked the front desk.

Also, don't tempt me, I'm pushing it with just two vehicles parked at my apartment, 3 would result in an eviction notice I think

I'm in the same boat, however as it stands I have 2 at my house (and 2 motorcycles that are hidden out in sheds or tents or whatnot), plus 1 at my buddies place (which is probably being sold soon), and one more that I plan on bidding on which will be stored at another friends house until the altima sells (aka if I win the auction the altima goes on CL immediately and I go from there, Jeep gets dropped off at my buddies place, I fix it up there, go for inspection, get title, bring it back to friends house, and it sits there unregistered until the altima sells and I swap the plates over.

So I may be the owner of a car, 3 Jeeps, and 2 motorcycles for a short period of time :gee: Funny thing is they would all be fully paid off except the car too. idk how some people go into debt with 1 car; you can find all these cheap ones for... cheap :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sawzall time, works great when you can just carry each piece

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im hopinf we will get some more snow this week then we can just winch it across with johnnys jeep, unless i can get like 8 peaple and we can carry it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

really dont want to deal with cutting it up, or else i would of by now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think that would be the best part of disassembling the vehicle. Actually I think that would have been my first step. Instead of taking the axles out... f*** it, cut them out. What? taking out an engine? I think that would be much easier if the engine bay wasn't connected to the Jeep dont ya think? etc etc.

And I think half my cutting would be tone with the acetylene torch; cutting + fire = :D

No wheels and no stereo??? That's why this was totalled? Looks like they tried taking the rear drums too...

I know exactly the one without clicking the link, Its identical to mine and Im thinking about bidding on it.

I usually take it apart on the trailer to avoid this but cutting the front off does makeit easier to move. Also a few people can move it easily, just ask Mark.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i stuck a hot paperclip thru my thumbnail and it exploded with blood. it relieved so much pressure. this morning it seems to be filled back up again and the whole nail is purple.
that sucks, last time I did that I used a piece of thin wire, didn't leave quite as big a hole.

I try to avoid fire when cutting apart things filled with various flammable fluids, but yeah. Axles are easy to take out when you don't care about the U-bolts, which should always be replaced anyways so I just cut em. Engine's actually easier when you cut away the frame back to just in front of the mounts and cut the fender walls off as far back as you can, that's what we did when I bought the drivetrain out of Skreed's old DD.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

no choppin it up, still got fuel lines in it full of gas, plus i dont want to make anymore of a mess then what has already been made, ill prob keep the shell til i get the 95 running good to make sure i dont need any little things

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just get a couple of people tp pick it up and carry it.

hell, it only took a couple of us to pick up Mark's Blairwitch and move in in the parking lot :D

Take of trans mount, take off driveshafts, use sawzall to cut apart behind engine, drop fuel tank.... No more flammable fluids to worry about (thoughout most of the Jeep) :dunno:

In my expert opinion there is not enough fuel in the lines to worry about. If concerned, just tear them out. They are held in by plastic clips. Then torch the fawker.:roflmao:

If you havent noticed I want a chance to use my acetylene torch. I haven't got much real use out of it yet. So far I have used it to cut off a couple tabs of steel to practice welding 3/16" and used it to heat some rod when I was making J-bolts for my fuel tank. (which [surprisingly] seem to be holding well, though I will be swapping them out whenever I can pick up some J-bolts from Ken since, ya know, I ordered them but never paid up :D)

Edit: Side note, I have a salsa jar of ATF + acetone sitting on my desk with a couple hood pins in there. Hopefully that works to break the nuts free. Either way I now have a jar of ATF+acetone for when I need it. Going to be adding some oil of wintergreen as soon as I can get to a CVS and pick some up. Apparently that stuff actually works well alone and works great mixed in with the acetone + atf... plus it makes it smell 'a bit' better
