THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Does anyone know the answer to this so I can avoid the DMV: I know with a MA salvage title you need to go to the DMV and have it inspected there; have receipts for all parts used, etc. If a vehicle has a NH salvage title would I be able to do the same thing or is there a catch somewhere that I would need to get it titled in NH first and then transfer the title down here? idk how a salvage title works...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross, no pics no proof!

as far as salvage titles, http://www.mass.gov/rmv/titles/11salinsp.htm call them up or stop by one of the inspection stations to ask. they usually require appointments but the guy was helpful way back when I had a question on a situation. I know NH is a littl easier as far as titling but MA is always a b!tch.

Thanks. And yeah I know MA is a bitch but I think I could def get this vehicle inspected... my concern was that it comes with a NH salvage title so I wasn't sure if I will have issues getting it inspected/titled in MA.
Awesome, one of the inspection stations is just about (if not) right on my way home from work. Will have to leave early on monday or something and stop in.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No. It does not have to be titled in NH first. Ive reconstructed a few XJs, in fact my current DD is reconstructed and had a New Jersey title, the only one that can cause some issues is NY because of how they do there salvage. The closest insp. station to you is right in Bridgewater across from the Nip near 24. You dont need an appointment but you do have to get in line, which some days can be long and they dont stay past their closing time. You need to get the forms from the RMV first, def. keep all receipts and have it fixed. Theres alot of info but its not that hard if everything is legit. One thing you will need is a copy of the appraisal, they need to see what was needed to be fixed, why it was totalled. You know my # if you want to get all the info.

I had a feeling that was the case, I already have the paperwork to get the inspection including the list of major components. I suppose that the JY can give me the needed receipts for stuff like fenders. I just hope the Jeep comes with the appraisal info (i would assume it does; but who knows).

Thanks for the info.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Im sure you can send a request to the appraisal co. if needed. Thanks by the way as I'm now looking at a couple myself, the only problem is that a couple keep popping up errors when you click on them. Im thinking this one might be easy:

I think I could get this thing working again in a weekend or 2. Idk too much about grands but I have torn down a couple XJs. Not too hard...

Edit: The only thing i hate about copart is that if I search for cherokee grand cherokees come up too. I gotta call them up on monday to find out how it actually works... aka is there a 10% fee tacked onto the sale price so they make some $$ or do they take 10% of the sale price for profit or what. Need to adjust my max bid accordingly depending on how they work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scott, if you want a new XJ, spend the $ to get one with a good unibody. once it gets bent it's never the same.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I plan on getting one with a solid unibody; that one that got T-boned is NOT one that I am actually looking at. The one I am looking at has a bit of bumper damage, damaged header panel, bent fender and some light damage (due to the broken header panel). The airbags didn't even deploy so I am guessing the unibody is OK though I will be going to look at it this week to check out if there is excessive rust or anything.

And I just ordered my non-eval version of windows 7 ultimate and another 4gigs RAM. That ram should give my system a much needed kick in the pants :D

That sucks; you probably COULD fix it but it would be one hell of a project. Not sure if it would be worth it.

Edit: looks like the door frame is pretty straight (I think). May not be as hard as I thought it would be. Just cut a hole in the floor, run a strap through it, and use a Jeep to pull the pinch weld straight :dunno: Granted that probably wouldn't work TOO well but it's what I woudl do if I bashed my Jeep up like that.

No wheels and no stereo??? That's why this was totalled? Looks like they tried taking the rear drums too...
:roflmao: awesome. I wish I could find one like that around here.

What, did I get half of NAC searching copart now? awesome, just as long as you stay away from the auctions I am in :D
