THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm enjoying the hell out of the FS thread in Non-Tech. Glad I've got the ability to let it play out and keep it from getting locked up  What a TARD

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I actually accomplished something tonight. Got my new Tcase linkage all made up. Up for tomorrow is that start of the frame stiffeners. I still need to clean up the damaged area on the frame rail a bit on the drivers side. But I can clean up/prime the pass side as well as the inside of the stiffeners.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A good number of them are 30 and 40 amp units. I don't really have much wire, it's all 14 and 16 gauge and fairly high quality so I'm trying to avoid getting rid of it. All the welding cable I got is 1 and 2 gauge so it's just slightly overkill for a light harness.

Damn, alright. Looks like I am picking myself up a bunch of wahr. Gotta find a good source for wire. Where did you get your stuff? Any good/cheap online stores for wire and maybe quick connects? Most everything will be soldered but for the in dash switches I think quick connects wouldn't be a bad idea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so, my D300 is pretty much 100% apart (with some persuasion). and some of the gears are kinda rusty. there was a lot more water in there than i thought. i think i have a line on another set of gears pretty much free though. so we'll see.

Mine came from a trip like this:

WPI was clearing out one of their storerooms in the ECE dept, I saw the contractors carrying roll upon roll of wire out and tossing it in the dumpster and offered to lighten their load a little. They were more than happy to oblige... wish I had grabbed more.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

IIRC, I have heard that in 2WD low on steep downhills (while engine braking) they have a habit/possibility of popping out of gear. I think it is due to one of two things, either the detent pocket is too shallow, or the spring that holds the detent in place is too weak (or a combination of the two...)

I have heard some people "solved" the problem by simply stretching the spring a bit so it gave a bit more pressure behind the detent to hold the shift rail in place. Others increase the detent pocket like that kit apparently does. Either option will hold the shift rain in place better.
