Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
TNT long arms FTL...
Spent the evening at Baystate Offroad with Bob looking over my heep as to why I keep blowing the UCA bushings.
At full droop, there is so much bind between the suspension design and the trac bar pulling the axle to the drivers side, that the bushings just cant take it.
So these are my options...
1. Replace UCA bushings after every trail ride.
2. Cut and weld on another mount or insert and weld a sleeve into current mounts to run a different style bushing (RE small superride, Currie johnny joint, rockkrawler joint, etc). This will inevitably, in my mind, move the stress point to another rubber bushing (poly bushing on the other end of the UCA) and it will waste that as well.
3. Cut my losses and buy a Clayton LA kit. I can sell my TNT setup for about $500 (all bushings still good, and still have all hardware...only 3 months old)
Right now, if I stay part-time at my job while in class, I'm leaning towards 3. I want a solid suspension setup for when I upgrade axles/tires down the road. I thought I had that with the TNT setup, but I don't. I can't believe they charge $800 for a setup with poor geometry, and that practically requires you to buy their truss or some form of aftermarket mount/bushing for the axle end.
