The east coast is a very different place from the west coast. IRC, every year in Durand Eastman Park in Rochester NY, they have a hunt where there is no limit. Deer breed like rabbits in environments that actually are conducive to wildlife/plants.

True ignorance is labelling everyone as either us or them and then hating them while believing only we are right. We are them, they are us; we're all Americans. We weren't meant to be a two party system and as long as we see it as us vs them, we will remain a two party system, with two screwed up parties working towards the same goals from different angles. Was Bush liberal or conservative? Who expanded the gov't police powers to allow wire taps without warrants, indefinite detentions, etc? How about Obama, lib or con? Did he uphold almost every one of Bush's policies to limit our rights? Did he sign new legislation allowing indefinite detention of American citizens? If you believe one party is good while the other is bad, you're an idiot. Both are populated by idiots, catering to idiots while playing idiots off other idiots to think they have a say, so they can keep all the idiots separated and in line, not thinking about what's really happening.

Fine, so don't call me a liberal. I oppose gun control as it effects law abiding citizens and most abortions. I advocate free market capitalism (subject to all due regulation) and I think the Republicans are alot more right on energy policy than the Democrats.

Or call me a liberal because I think the middle income earners should get the tax breaks and because I have a reputation for defending scientists against politcal hatchet jobs.

I hunt pheasant because I enjoy getting out on a crisp Autumn day in Soutrh Dakota and working as a team with a good dog. I enjoy fresh poultry and its got absolutely nothing at all to do with politics. But go ahead and label me anyway you want...have at it.

Obama has had nearly four years including two with the dems controlling both houses of Congress to take away my pheasnt hunting and it hasn't happened yet and I take that as solid evidence that in another four years I'll still be hunting pheasant. If that makes me a flaming liberal so be it.

Obama isn't going to do anything that stupid until he hits his second term.

As far as Darkys post. I can't disagree with him at all.

As far as I know I've never labeled myself a republican or a democrat. I personally hate pretty much every politician. I just hate the one we have in office more than just about anything running against him.

I'm pretty sure Obama will get his second term. Mostly because I've lost all faith in humanity and I'm pretty sure there are more politically retarded voters in this country than sane, intelligent people.

All that being said. You can't sit back and say that there aren't more liberal minded politicians trying to take gun rights away and conservatives. It's a huge defining line between the two political beliefs.

Yes. And what rights are most valuable to you pretty much defines what way you lean. Left or right.

Gun rights, land access are two of my biggest concerns. Obama is the biggest threat to them. At least as far as presidential candidates that have half a chance of winning.
 
Or bringing the troops home?

The arab spring pretty much commits us to another two decades of nation building in the middle east.
