Team V8

Looks awesome Dan! Can't wait to see some Nitto smoke!
Having seen your rig up close with the super clean LS swap, the Stak case, super axles, ... jealous man, jealous.

haha thanks Tim. I still can't believe that guy traded me for the cherokee!

Yea some red labels would be sick, but down the road the next tire to find its way on there is prob going to be a SS or something less painful to watch go up in smoke ;)

That is awsome Dan. I know you're glad to get it to this point. Look out Windrock!!!

yeah thats true. time to find some sx's!

forgot to mention,

i swapped out hubs for Tylers grandpas bronco and dropped them off at bradley machine, told them my story and they said if i was okay with where the holes were going to land that they would stick to my specified 4.5" diameter... much thanks to travis, should have them back within 2 weeks. getting the ring gear installed at RSOR fab this week so all i should need to do is install my hubs when i get them and sling this thing under the YJ and hook up the brakes and we are good to go...

still need to figure out my engine problem. still have a IAC to install, got a new MAF sensor installed (reman, thanks dad!) tyler checked to see if the plugs were fouled, not sure yet whats going on... ill try and diagnose it more when i can spend some time on it... im sad because its been at tylers house for so long and i dont get to see it everyday...

set up a thread for a shake down run plan, end of april begining of may. i want to drive my jeep so bad!

It's getting there Blake!

got my hubs back from bradley machine in cleveland, tn. and i cant anything bad about them. they holes are lined up PERFECTLY. now thats what i call a machine shop... nuff said!

hopefully will get to work on the jeep on sunday. swap the axles out and get this thing moving again!!!

sorry for the crappy cellphone pics but i forgot the camera... did good to get these :D

Lol, looks goodI If I knew you were going to do that I wouldn't have went through the trouble to get the gear indicator working correctly. All of this work and have you even driven it yet?

i appreciate the work but the indicator was only spot on on half of them and half off on the rest. im guessing due to the mod on the shifter bracket at the tranny but it works great... i didnt really think about doing it this way till after it was all done, i just couldnt think of a good way to cover it up without looking jacked up so i thought this would be cool and theme worthy :D

i have driven it just not a test run drive... actually i have a free saturday this coming weekend that is pretty much my only chance to test run it properly before the crawl.

can we still go to aetna mtn? is there a way up that doesnt include the neighborhood? want to come? or maybe the cove or somewhere close. i can prolly do a day trip to windrock but i kinda wanted to keep it close JIC...

Well, unfortunately I have an appointment to detail a car on Saturday. Hit up Dan, maybe he would want to go to the cove with you or something. There is a way t get on Aetna still, but I don't know how.

sounds good. i talked to a girl at work who has a lease key, her husband goes about every other weekend. said that there is another way up but that the neighborhood wasnt stopping people from driving through with their rigs but wouldnt allow trucks to park there with trailers and whatnot... ill have to confirm that with him because he talked directly to the people that said they did it... ill give dan a call see if he wants to come. hopefully i can get dude with the key to go with me too maybe, we can use the lease.

From what I understand, if you have a lease key and you get caught allowing other people in who do not have a key, they take your key away... Not saying he won't do it, but a guy did that for us one night and the owner chewed the guy out for allowing us in. Said if it happened again he'd never be allowed to come back in that way. And from that experience, if I were you, I would stick to the main trail if you can. The creek bed in the lease side isn't exactly the place for a shakedown run.

well i didnt ask to be let in and he didnt offer so im guessing your right on that part. we are going to meet up on top of the mtn. hopefully i can get ryan or someone else to go so i dont have to traverse the mtn just to meet with the guy that is suppose to be my back up heh...

wellllll... the genrals maiden voyage was eventful... i went to windrock with doug/courtney and adam...

trail 15 to 3 to 22 and home...

got body damage on 15 along with a cut rear driver tire (so now i need a new to me TSL q78) and the engine is overheating (guess that radiator didnt work out after all...) and it still has high idling problem (apparently temp sensor didnt correct this) but whats weird is that it idles fine at cool temp and high at high temp... something is messed up...AND now i have some sort of leak from the tranny/transfer case area... not sure what happened, saw it when i loaded up. need some clearancing for the driveshaft, and i think the shaft is too long so i dont get any slines for compression anymore... HOPEFULLY it didnt bottom out too bad and crack the xcase (leaking atf) hopefully the leak is overflow because of temps and nothing serious...

so i left this morning with one possilble problem (overheating) and came home with one less tire, leaks, overheating, high idling...fun day

and to beat it all i prolly not going to get the money to fix it or have the time to fix all my problems before the CRAWL...still might go though just to have fun camping weekend..... but i highly doubt the GENRAL will make it. so maybe ill have it all worked out before next years CRAWL......

still had fun today though, thanks to adam for the spare tire i drive trail 3 and 22 with it. the tranny did good, and the engine (other than stated problems) ran great, and sounded awesome! and i got to drive with my windshield down for the first time on the trail :D overall very eventful, but i feel defeated because of all the problems...
