Team V8

Rock on sir!

some details of the cage:

this is a clearance hole for the bolt to flip the windshield down.

one of the corner where we utilized the factory bar with plate to still attach the windshield when up, kinda hard to see the plate but its still there

ill try and get some more shots of the shifter and other stuff when its running :D and i see it again.

Yep, I like the cage too! It isn't as elaborate as Jarrad's, but Blake wanted something simple and functional. Everything is 1 3/4" Tube except for the dash bar (which is 1 1/2"), so it will keep him safe in a mild rollover, God forbid that ever happen though.

Did you guys see the welds? Aren't they perdy?!? :worship: :D

Im gonna go mount a fan and add some water before class. I'll take a video too!

As promised:

Unfortunately, as you can see in the video, there is a running issue (it almost dies before I gave it some gas). I pulled the codes this evening and it apparently has a bad spark control module... It was a junkyard part we threw on, and it worked for a while, but now has apparently changed its mind. Dan will grab a few more this weekend and maybe we will find another one. It also has 2 Mass Air Flow sensor codes, but I forgot to plug it up the other day so maybe they are from that.

The Genral should be getting a new exhaust tomorrow!

okay alittle update, nothing done yesterday but wednesday we took it to the muffler shop (will remain unamed till i am convinced) and it had to be one of the worst jobs i have ever seen in my life... i have seen some of their previous work and they can do good work but my jeep was apparently given to a part time employee that isnt suppose to do the custom jobs anymore because of his lack of quality, his job list is suppose to be basic weld ons and simple stuff but apparently custom jobs is not his forte'

needless to say it currently leaks and looks like he tackled it blind folded on his first day with a welder....

the owner got a look at it and told tyler to have it back on monday and they would fix it right, which means completely redo the entire thing... on their dime because i paid for a $200 exhaust not including parts/materials/taxes and not one thing on it is correct...

reason i have to wait till monday is because the man that did mine is there till friday because they are backed up and he didnt want him trying to fix it because apparently he is very prideful and more stubborn than a donkey being pushed towards a cliff....

ill report in on monday night maybe with some pics...

That sucks, at least they recognized how bad it was and are going to fix it, still a pain non the less.

Update on phase 2 of Team V8:
Tyler was able to find all the necessary drive-by-wire pedal and under-dash wiring at the J/Y yesterday. So as of right now it looks like we should have everything we need... so far. Also good news, He spoke to the guy at the shop where the computer is going to be re-flashed. Apparently they can re-tune the computer for more power and according to they guy at the shop they estimate the 6.0L to be somewhere in the 400+ hp range when they are done. I'm still a little skeptical but they said it will be on the dyno when they tune it so I guess we'll see.

38's on a dyno= awesome!

OMG!!!!

BY FAR

THE

MOST

Beautiful exhaust ever to grace the jeep that it resides in.

So i took my jeep back to Masterbend in cleveland, tn off of inman street, as told to do by the owner so they could fix the nasty messed up work that their PARTTIME ancient (should bearly be allowed to do the simple stuff) employee boogered up.

and let me just say that THIS is how it should have been done in the first place.

driver side curves around the front of the oil pan with plenty of clearance (about 1") and wraps around to the passenger side where the pass tube bends into a 2-1 collector (imagine that, not Tboning into a larger pipe) and then out through my muffler (which is hidden by the crossmember) with plenty of clearance from the floor pan (little over 1", previous 1/2" maybe) and out over my ladder bar mount and turned down right behind the crossmember.

EXACTLY like i wanted in the first place, as stated in the first place, but apparently the old man with 30+ years of experience knew better than the customer and didnt want to listen....and do a piss poor job at that...

let me just say that they rectified his mistake and if you ever go there, which i recommend, just ask for Bobby (a rather big guy with tattoos and some peircings but dont let that fool you, if it would in the first place, hes an awesome guy and does a GREAT job)

Pics?

Tyler, you need a video camera... my head hurts from watching. :D

Someone HAS to be there with a [real] video camera when they do a dyno pull.
