Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

The rest should go pretty quick, we pulled the shafts and outers as an assembly.

Tie rod hits the diff cover a little. Grinder and a sand disk will minimize this.

I'm stopped there for the moment. I have a shiny new solid aluminium tie rod from Stinkyfab to go on, but I was out of Right Stuff to seal the diff with.

We also found some cracked welds we need to deal with. No 220v James's shop yet, so I'll probably drag it down to Stinkyfab or up to Richards shop this coming weekend to grind it out and burn it back hot hot HOT.

ah.

i hate welding to cast for this reason. I never seem to have a welder with enough power.

Doh! That's what I get for clicking on "show the latest" and not scrolling up any to see what I've missed.

Thornbirds probably work better than Falcons though....

A little more work Saturday.

One half of one LCA mount is welded to cast iron, and the welds were breaking. I don't have enough heat (or skill?) to fix it, so took it over to Jeff @ Simpsonfab.

Cut the bracket off, did some cleanup, burned it back hotter than hell, and braced it into some good steel above.

In theory, the car should be back to race condition now.

I need to go over it and check to make sure I didn't miss any bolts, vacuum the interior out and go wheeling. :)

Don't forget to adjust the Rekcus Actuator before you get it out there. We don't want a repeat of Superstition.

lol.....it will crack again.

not with poor decisions like that
