Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

Assuming all the bolts are tight, I can't see how it would make a difference.

Particularly in light of the fact factory knock sensors havent been available for a long time, and you're stuck guessing what other vehicles will work.

The one I am running is out of some volvo.

Brown Dog uses something similar to thread adapter to mount it to the block, so it directly attached to the block via that thread adapter. Where as the SFR mount it to a nut welded to a plate in the middle of three bolts.

A knock sensor is just a microphone that is tuned to a specific frequency and the ECU listens for that specific frequency to detect knock and pull timing. That's why all OEMs mount the knock sensors directly to either the head or the block.

those vibrations will be transferred through the block plate the same as they are through the block.

Weren't you running Brown Dog mount and brackets? What was wrong with them?

I wrote a really long reply to this, but then erased it, and am going to keep this answer short.

Nothing was or is wrong with the Brown Dog mounts or plates. Brown Dog offers an excellent product and great customer service.

That said, over the course of 6 or so engine swaps, some of the hardware has gotten chewed up or replaced, and the bushings in our motor mounts are getting worn out. Dallas @ SFR is a very good friend of mine, and has supported our team from the very beginning, including coming to most of our races to pit for us.

I actually have spare bushings here for the brown dog mounts, but if I'm going as far as pulling them out to R&R them, I am going to replace them with product made by my friend who is with us every time we run the car.

I don't feel either product is better or worse, we are making the change based on the people and not the hardware.

And then I'm waiting to get the front end back from the gear guy. :)

Won't have the car at stampede. Will be there volunteering for u4, and then racing at glen helen.

All finished Cal. I just want to thank you for allowing me to become a sponsor of your race team. I had been kicking around the idea of getting my own gear service gig going. I also worked with a professional artist to help me with a commercially viable logo for the biz. What do you think?
