Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

Something about having all the coil load pushed out away from the coil bucket and supported by a few bolts just does not sit well with me.

Here's the other piece of the bumpstop puzzle. Stock class only allows 2" of bumpstop travel, so previously there had a been a solid piece of HDPE bar in the center of the Prothane bumpstops as a hard stop. This worked alright, but the prothane was getting torn up by the bumpstop tower.

This is the new solution. These slide into the bumpstop from the top down, giving the tower something solid to land on, and also allows us to eliminate the plate on the bottom of the towers that was catching on the coils. The threaded hole in the center is because Cal was worried about the noise from the bump hitting driving him crazy. This way we can bolt on a UHMW plate to quiet things up if it makes a racket.

I run pretty much the same setup.

how tight is the fit on those?

mine fit loosely and they rattle on the coils. doesn't bother me, but everyone always asks what the noise is.

I have acos pro on my zj all around and when I run little up travel or am getting into the bumps regularly while trail running they get annoying quick even with my umhw pads.

A trail jeep is a little different from something with no windows, a loud fan and fuel pump behind your head, a really loud exhaust, being driven with a full face helmet with pumpers and an intercom. Without the helmets you can barely shout to your passenger. I don't really see these bump stops as having any kind of impact on the noise level, but we'll find out soon enough.

Apparently it's a 4600 class party at the shop this weekend. 4643 is off the lift and 4696 is on.

And we kinda acquired this thing as well, and will be prepping it to race at Glen Helen. "the most disturbing part of all this, is that this thing actually qualifies for the term "racecar""

Managed to not take a single picture of our car this weekend; but 4643 is all buttoned up.

Poor Boys Racing came down to SFR for a quick prep. Didn't take many pictures there either, but I have a few...

Dallas spun up a custom AN fitting to swap in a new steering box.

This is the bearing and seal assembly from the sector shaft of an AGR steering box. The seal uses a small o-ring in a steel carrier (the lowest part before the washer) that had to be replaced.

Doesn't seem to need any prep, just fresh gas and go.

Come on out! After the races are done, track down our pit and swing by for a beverage. We'll be happy to celebrate with you!

$20 a head for entry. Kids 12 and under free. Dry camping is free for spectators.

I would. Underneath that hammered body is an incredibly well built race car full of top shelf parts. A month of long weekends stitching body panels in, and that would be an epic car again.

Topped off fluids. Zip tied the dip sticks down. Loaded the car on the trailer. Tomorrow I'll load the camper, fill the fridge with beer and be ready to go.

How many of you are coming out to watch the races? This is one of the best spectator venues!
