Swamp Lake July 15-17.....latest info

It's been a blast. It's always good to see some old faces and meet some new folks, wheel, drink beer, chase tires, snooze, rebuilt driveshafts, get eaten by mosquitos.

Made it home all safe and sound. That drive through the Valley really sucked. Every time I tried to run AC the jeep wanted to over heat. So I had to cruise window down.
It was a great trip and it was nice meeting everyone. Thanks again to Remy for the help with the drive shaft, and for the display on the "proper" technique to capture and subdue a wild tire. Now in only a few days I'm sure I'll have made up for all the blood lost to the mosquito gods.
By the way, was that Goat's pickup down the hill that had the nice decorations on it? And I thought that fuzzy dice on the mirror was cool! I guess I'm just way behind on what's fashionable. :laugh2:

Great trip, all kinds of fun. Great to meet everyone and thanks for the helping out with the driveline. Remi got to say that a few more practice sessions you can get that tire on the bounce. :kissyou:

Got home faster then I thought I would. Hit absolutely NO traffic, it was awesome. HOT as hell. My A/C isn't workin so great so I had to cruz home with the windows down.

Over all - GREAT Trip..... We had a great time. Nice meeting all of you. Looking forward to next years run and hopefully I will see most of you before then.

B.C. - The weekend's over buddy :laugh3:

As always, a great trip. It's nice to see those who I only see once or twice a year, and it's always fun meeting new folks. The weather at 8000' was a whole lot better than it was in the valley. The campfire talk and food were good as usual, and we even got entertainment from a friendly streaker from one of the other camps.......wonder how that guy felt in the morning. Oh, and thanks for the TP job on the truck, I laughed my ass off.........I'm sure I was owed a payback from a few of you. :)

BTW, I pulled the front hub this morning and it was broken.......so a broken Warn hub, no stub shaft. I guess the thoughts of a hybrid front axle will remain on the very back burner.

First NAXJA run with the XJ. Had a lot of fun and met a bunch of great people. Thanks to everyone who helped repair my junk. I broke the centering pin on one of the leafs on the way up my myself. Thanks to Dave (don't know your screen name) for the replacement bolt and Richard for the 2nd jack for the axle. Thanks again to Farmer Matt and the others that helped reseat one of my tires on the trip down.

The only real negatives of the trip were the thousands of DEET resistant mosquitos and "anyone want to party" streaker dude! The streaker really got the jokes flying though.

Look forward to running with you guys again.

Great trip as always.
Good to know I wasn't the only one with their AC working over time on the drive back. Actually had to shut it off on one of the climbs on Pacheco Pass(152).

After a full weekend on the trail, seasonal allergies were dealt with swiftly and resourcefully.

I run sometimes. Check out this poser shot. Shortly there after I was pulling a Richard and boiled the brake fluid. Told Kristen that smell was the standard for the break in period. :D

BTW, Damn. I think I'll be King of the Mountain.

Since Richard ruined my fun I'm going to pick on Bryan.

"Junior Target". I thought you were a man not a boy. Bragging about a bullseye on a junior target is kind of like bragging about beating up a women, isn't it? :D

I tell you, no more of these "Non-Jeep" vacations for Kristen.
