Stove Pipe Question

I have a question that some of those of you in the colder climates may be able to answer. I have a wood stove that I am getting ready to install in the garage. When I had it in the garage at my last house, I kept burning through the inner wall of the double wall pipe. I need something that is going to hold up to the heat. I don’t need double wall stuff as far as I know. If need be I can add a heat shield in the area where it passes through the roof. There will be plenty of room because of the requirements for setback in that area.
TIA

You should be using actual "stovepipe" not just double wall gas furnace pipe. You will also need an actual wood stove chimney to penetrate the roof.

Hmmm, I was sold the double wall stuff as stovepipe. I've found that there aren't to many places, if any that are to up on the subject in these parts. I Know the code for the roof opening but wasn’t aware of any pipe requirements. I'll have to go back to the library and check the state code books. I'm not going to bother with checking with the city. Those people don't know their arse from a hole in the ground.

Thanks.

I'm suprised wood is legal to burn in California.

Does firewood packages there come with the sticker. "warning...burning of this wood is known in the state of California to cause Cancer." ?

Not yet, but the way that law (morons!) is written, there is to be an endless clasification of Items. Once it is lables a person that burns it would be required to place the warning at every door that is an entrance. Pinko liberal dumb fuques!

Imagine my dissapointment at realizing this thread was not regarding the use of cheap sten magazines in a full auto Mac.10...
