Stepping up to a 'REAL' tow rig

I wanted a Ford 7.3...the 6.0 scares me a little....
For future, none of the 6.0L you would buy today should have any problems.
They either were fixed already, or didn't have any problems at all.
I would not be afraid of a 6.0 at all!

Gene's 2500 got out of the hole pretty good when he took Pat & I to downtown Murphy a couple years ago. I was impressed.

Yup...he did good.

My next one will be a Mega cab only a dually.

I need a bigger camper.

Actually the only prob with the 6.0 was if it was in an International chassis. They are built by them ya know, but I.H. put all the gear driven shit in the rear, while Ford put the (power steering pump) in the front. I.H. 6.0.'s have all been recalled for gear changes, ford, no probs.

Only problem with the megacab is that you can only get the shortbed (they do make a dually shortbed too) so you limit yourself to a certain extend on truck campers. Works good for me tho cause I'm now currently looking for a popup truck camper in the 6.5 to 8 foot variety...actually found one, but need to sell the van first...

I'm going to sleep in the back of it this weekend...doesn't have the room that the van has, but gets places a little more easily with a LOT more power.

I wondered if this wouldn't turn into a Ford/Dodge debate. And really, there's not much to debate because I think that both are a good truck. (I personally wouldn't touch a chevy.) If money were no option I'd have a cummins motor with a Ford Body and interior...but that realm is WAY out of my budget.

Either way with my average of 7-10k a year in miles this truck (because I nearly have a fleet) should last me a long time and have a great resale value when the time comes.

...wow that truck is so sexy..
