Steering upgrade questions

yeah, you'd need to fab a custom axle side mount, or jks makes one (i even see crazyjims favorite company, tnt now makes one too!)

did you ever break your steering? mines seen accidental airtime, on a renix steering setup, and it wasnt even bent.
just wondering how easy stuff bends under jeepspeed conditions.

say i were to get the ballistic kit, how imperative would it be that i address relocating the trackbar at the same time? would it be that bad to drive with the ballistic steering and the RE HD trackbar in the stock axle mount?

im sure it works fine but ballistics kit is $70 cheaper and comes with 3/4" bolts

I'm running the ballistic chevy one ton steering on my cherokee and it handles way better then the stock style setup

I'll probably be ordering the 3/4" with high misalignment spacers pretty soon. I was looking at Iron Rocks, but at $100 more, it wasn't worth it for me just to get it bolt on.

I'd phone the guy at Iron rock, really nice guy, just tell him your lookin at his and the others but cannot justify paying more,maybe he will come down in price? worth a shot!

since my drivers side knuckle is already drilled out to 3/4" for the goferit tie rod flip, i just sprung for the 7/8" kit for $30 more. i know its way overkill but that way ill only do it once. haha

I used a clayton "frame" side mount and a ruffstuff axle side mount for the trackbar. I made the bar out of 1.5" .250 wall dom with ballistic joints

sweet, any chance you could get some pics of the axle side mounted? also how long was the dom tube? sorry for all the random questions Im just trying to figure this all out haha

the tube was about 23" long and the tracbar was 27.75" long

How much did it cost you guys to relocate your track bar? Maybe the iron rock setup is worth the extra money after you factor that in.

the iron rock upgrade doesnt relocate the trackbar. you would need to buy and weld on a new bracket. a few companies offer this bracket which is about $40-$50. then you would also need a custom trackbar

Yeah I know that, that is why the iron rock upgrade may be worth the extra $100
