I think you'd give your jeep a nice rocker panel makeover. 31s, sliders, skids, and recovery points are important.

There's a ton of very rocky areas.

Good to know, if I get 4.10s I will probably be going to 31'' tires. I have some front tow hooks I need to install, A rear hitch that I will be getting nutserts for. Maybe sliders/rocker guards if I can afford them.
It's my DD but pretty much a beater, so don't mind if it gets beat up to a point.

I ran deer valley a couple of yrs ago on 31's which were not even all terain, and open open with no protection and did ok. Granted Shark mark is a bad ass spotter, you might have to take a couple bypasses, but for sure on smaller tires you are gonna want at least some recovery points. I think the biggest reason people say go with so much stuff on trails like this is because if your not built alot it slows the group down.

I plan on coming on this trip this year (i missed it last year cause of new baby). Is it still jul 21-24? need to know so I can get the time off work.

In theory everyone should have tow points. If you want to run the trail with small tires tow points should be MANDATORY front and rear. You are more likely to have trouble on the trail so more likely you will need the tow point. There was a guy that showed up right before the Slick Rock run last year and he should not have been on the trail mostly due to having no tow points. It became an issue on the last obstacle.

Sean,
Everyting's going ok. Getting a divorce and possibly having to move out has me pretty disctracted.

I know this isn't my run BUT here are the minimum requirements (especially if there is a large turn out).

Must Have:
31's
3 1/2 Lift
Tow Points F&R

Good to have:
Limited Slip
Rocker Protection

If it's a smaller group (10 or less rigs) then a less built rig will do ok with some spotting but it can still lead to a very long day :-)

JW - If you get some bigger tires you should be ok.

Look forward to seeing you guys out there. If possible, I am going to get up there a day or two early and just chill. God knows I will need a vacation. Kelly - come up early and teach me how to fish - hahaha

I will be happy to cook for everyone again too and I can lead DV on Saturday if you want.

Tow points are required on all NAXJA runs.

Truth. It's also not cool to bring total junk on the trail.

If you know your jeep is good at breaking, maybe don't bring it to the sierras, in the middle of 15 other jeeps on a trail.

We'll pick the date next Sat, Feb 26th after 10AM. Make sure you vote so that we can make you feel bad when we don't pick your weekend.

Those pics rock. But you forgot that I got high centered on those 2 rocks.

Damn long arm brackets.

Edit**

You can also see that I'm such a hard core wheeler, that my tire carrier fell off.

I got stuck on that same set of rocks too. I also broke my passenger side mirror off on the tree.

Oh wow, same spot?

The first time we ran it at night I think we had to push it off, and I was unstuck. haha

Whichever weekend it happens I'm looking forward to getting up there again. I hope you make it Mark, just leave the mosquitos behind this year. (There was so many that seemed to be just "buzzing" around Mark for some reason :passgas:) Great trails and great people. Last year I had issues with my t-case locking in the front. In a couple more weeks I should be installing my "cure" for this issue tho. I'll be looking forward to testing it out either up there or on the 'Con. Maybe we can get Sean's dad to run the GC thru this year : )..
