Last year we used this jeep for recovery on the top of backdoor during the LCQ and on Aftershock during the main race. I was doing alright on the trails at the Hammers but wanted to be able to move a little quicker so new shocks and bump stops were ordered up.

Our local fab guy (Jeremy from DBS customs, Cal rocs 35" and under spotter team #426) has been helping me out with the welding that I can't do for a while. In June we put the Fox shocks up front and he built me a kickass rear bumper shortly after.

Finally he had enough time to take care of the rear end of my XJ, here are the fab porn pics:

If you don't mind me asking, why did you go with the teraflex bumps instead of fox,Bilstein,saw,etc.. And another question, why didn't you mount the rear bumps inside the uni-body rail, aren't you worried about them ripping off in that particular area?

Looks good though! Take some more pics after it's put back together.

I wanted to try out the tera bumps, we got a great deal on them so it was an easy choice. From the way it was plated it shouldn't be a problem.

I will keep you guys posted on the tera bumps, I think they will work great.

Nice to see someone FINALLY gusset the underside of those rear bump pads after seeing them fold over on more than a few occasions.

Looks good

I'm no fabricator and I don't have welding experience, but gorgeous welds ... well, they do something to my insides.

Jeremy knows what he's doing.

So after bombing around the desert all week I am very happy with how the bumps work. I bottomed my jeep out hard the first night we were there a couple of times and it probably took a few years of life out of the unibody but the bumps soaked most of it up and worked great the rest of the week.

How did the rears hold up being on the outside of the uni as opposed to sandwiched between the uni? Welds still holding up or any "damage" around that area?

No damage that I can see, Jeremy did a great job of plating the area before he welded it and I am sure that it will hold up for a really long time.

Lowrange2-

The mounts worked alright on the 44, we had to angle them out so they would clear the coils, but for the price I am very happy with them. They are Teraflex brackets btw, if you need some sway bar brackets I would get these. We haven't been able to damage them in almost a year of running them.

Because the 44 never quite fit in there right we went back and redid alot of the front end to get 2 more inches of up travel, I will get some pics of the new front end later on this week or next week.

For what we did, it was great, when I wanted to go faster I needed more travel so Devin moved stuff around and made it work.

I have lost a few shocks after I changed up my rear and put them outside but notched into the frame.

This is a VERY dull video but just watch from the 3:15 mark:
