...sorry...another build thread...

Jon- You are indeed a whirlwind! It is great to see your rig coming together so nicely! Keep up the great work. I got my 44 done and in the front. Had to go with 6 lug. Not at all happy with the spacer situation in the back 8.8, but I think I am going to just wheel for awhile. I started the work on the front axle and randomly pulled the dipstick while it was in the garage... Water in the oil! That was a nasty shock... just rebuilt and replaced the head and moved on. Already big project turned even bigger, but done now. I don't have your energy so my rig may stay the way it is for awhile, but 4 in lift locked front 44 LSD 8.8 and 33's seems to be a pretty solid Cherokee. I may go to 35's with my next set of tires, but I doubt I'll ever get to 37's.

Anyway... your rig just keeps getting better! Keep the blogs and pics coming. I am enjoying it!

Tim,
your rig sounds awesome! front 44 on 33s? the 8.8 is stout, and the 44 front, well, I'm jealous, damn i only have a 30 but on 37s . as for the head gasket, that is unfortunate that you had to replace the entire head but probably faster and cheaper than re building it.

chris
its billys jd2 bender. killer bender, id highly recommend bolting it to the ground. the spare 35 does an ok job of keeping it down.... reading tube bending 101 on pirate made my world so much better. the chalk on the garage floor method really works. i can pretty much replicate any bend now doing that and using the home made angle finder.

josh,
i finally started using my camera on my phone. i guess new phones have cameras one them...jk

and lastly, owning 3 jeeps that are all money funneling projects is expensive and practically a full time job itself...
if i end up selling the tan jeep and paying off some major credit cardage, and buy a dirt cheap DD, then ill start being able to save for a built front 9" ....

awesome work Jon, that heep is really coming along! cant wait to see it on them 37s.

I should have said remove, rebuild and replace... I had the head from the 98 sitting around so I used it for the rebuild. Big mistake, should have used the original. It does not have the water jacket heat sensor threaded into it so I have to figure out how to get my temp gauge working again. I did get a nice aluminum valve cover from the 98 as well, but it leaks! Grrrr, at least it runs well. Just a lot of little stuff to get figured out and I just want to wheel it for awhile.

started the main halo. 3" too short and i need to put some 5* bends towards the ends- i was just happy to get 2 90*s in roughly the same plane:

im going to slug and sleeve the halo to make it 3" wider (actually a "U") before bending the outer sides down.
then ill cut some holes in the roof and drop the B and C pillars down after i do the cross bars and Xs across the Halo-"U" thing up top.

yah folsom.

i don't know sac county. we were being very mellow minding our own business. but my good friends girlfriend gave the rangers a fake name (i have no idea why) when they asked us all not to drink anymore. we all stopped, except her. then when they came back to get her a ticket for drinking, the fake name thing turned into lying to a peace officer. apparently her boyfriend(my friend) has a cousin that he doesn't know that is divorcing the peace officer(rangers) friend that he likes since he knew my buddys last name and got all pissy when he heard it, even though my buddy doesn't know his cousin really. anyway. thats why. i was being a good boy and only drank coors lite until they told us to stop, since I've never actually been to folsom lake before i honestly didn't know you couldn't drink.

Lookin good Jon. Cant wait to see how it turns out. I like the way the bumper looks too.

i had no idea. never been there before. now that i know ill probably never go back. tons of people drinking there anyway. don't know why they singled us out. maybe they got more, but didn't hit up anyone else around us.

I'm sure it was from some idiot who probably killed someone out on the water and ruined it for the rest of us. Partially why i don't go there often, i can't afford anymore tix.
Just got pulled over for no mud flaps yesterday and got a ticket.

folsom pd sucks balls.
