I agree with Robert and Remi. If it were on the weekends, other people wouldn't be able to attend for the same reasons. Alternating weekdays and weekends is a good idea.

Welcome to the first Chapter meet & greet of the year.
I won't be there, but it was sure nice bumping into/meeting you today Robert. My wife and kids were digging the beach. I foresee a beach front vacation in my near future.

I can guarantee I wont make it. 3 hr drive one way = no way. I guess when they say socal they mean OC.
ouch that has to sting a little.

It would be nice to have some of the bigger gathering in more convenient places for those who don't live in the oc. Hell even if you rotate it around it would be nice.

Im still willing to drive the distance spend the gas and waste my time in traffic to go since it is a important meeting.

Ouch.. that hurts...... but here's the deal: if you look at the distribution of the folks in SoCal chapter then unfortunately LA, and OC are for the most part centrally located. Xmas party was in Long Beach and couple of the SD folks said that it's too far North. Couple folks from the desert areas mentioned it's too far West. Couple folks from Ventura mentioned it's too far South. So... now when it went South East to get the South and East folks it's too far for some other folks. Folks who can't make weekends are happy but those who can't make weekdays are not happy.

Bottom line is this: I"m sorry that not everyone can make it. I would love to have all be able to come out but then there's Big Bear a month later. Big dinner Sat night, raffle and camp fire and so on: if you can't make it to wheel, show up for that. I know it'll be inconvenient for some, perfect for others. There is no place that will keep everyone happy, no time that will keep everyone happy, no day that will make everyone happy.

I'm going to say this for those who can not say it because of their position.

STOP WHINING and DEAL WITH IT!!!!

It's a f'n NAXJA meeting, not a meeting to end world peace. You can make events that I can't attend and vice-versa.

The BOD are not dumbsh*ts. They consider all of these factors and I'm sure they struggled with this decision.

So, give them a break. They do a lot of stuff "behind the scenes" and like Remi said, they can't please everyone..

I understand the frustration, but NO, the SoCal chpater does not mean OC. There are many M&G's all over the chapter each month, plus work parties, hang-out parties, wheeling, etc....

This particular is just something new we want to bring to you, the members. I believe that the BOD should be heard from throughout the year, not just at election time. The members should care and want to know about things such as budget, membership, ideas, etc...

I did state that we will be rotating this type of meeting around the region. No, we will never please everyone at once and we will not even try.

We do want to offer plenty of opportunity though.

We also said the meeting minutes will be posted so everyone will be able to get a download and post their comments.

This group is an adult group, most of the time, and we should treat this as such.

Please bear with us and trust the BOD. We want to make this the best place for XJ owners and the best chapter within NAXJA. We have the best people, that's a fact!

With that said, I hoep as many folks as possible can make it next week. We do kind of need to get an idea on how many folks for food. Burgers and dogs will probably be the menu.

So finally, to those who can not make this one, we will see you at the next one.

Like Remi said, our BIG BEAR event is coming up very soon. Try to make plans to come for that. Stock to well-built can have fun up there. Some of the JV residents may not be super challenged, but they will still have fun. Heck, the BBQ, Raffle, and campfire are awesome!

Thanks everyone!

Dang! You should extend your vacation by 2 weeks and make our meeting.... LOL

It was great meeting you today as well. What a small world we live in!

Um, I live so far south I can see the next country, but that doesn't mean I think I'm being excluded because of my location. Frankly, Anaheim is pretty close when you consider the total capacity of land that is encompassed by Southern California (particularly if you only separate northern and southern and exclude central california). That's a lot of friggin' mileage and Anaheim aint' THAT far away. So get off yer high horse. The fact that there are more active members in the OC/LA area than the SD area dictates that the meetings should be held in a centralized location.

In case your mommy didn't tell you, life isn't always fair.

EDIT: Oh, hehe, I prolly won't be there either guys...but just in case it comes up, I vote for chapter sponsered beer and tapped kegs at every run!

Should be able to make it.

Its obvious that the So.Cal group is just a tight knit group of Guy's/Gal's and everyone enjoys getting together. Nobody wants to miss out. Sounds like a great problem for a group to have. Whining, not really. Hope I can make it.

Yeah, I'm just stating my excuse, don't take it as me complaining :) Wish I could be there but getting up at the butt crack of dawn for my new job precludes just about anything on weekdays, up to and including missing House!
