So... Last Night Sucked A$$

this sounds like one of my friends here in lafayette, ca near walnut creek

he rolled his 97' land rover discovery and then his parents got him a 93' bmw 325is, crashed that they paied to fix it 6k later it was all back together

then very quikly after fixing it he crashed it again, they called it totaled and then his parents got him another land rover,

its really bullshit

i watched this same deal play out many times w/ aother kids at my school
kid gets a 06' evo gets his parents to drop 20k into it in aftermarket parts then goes and totals it

earning a ride is the only way to go, paied 2k for my rig and put another 2k into it and i love it

Wabbit in woad = hossenfeffer, same for squirrels, cats, dogs, chipmunks, groundhogs, skunks [but I'll try my hardest to not make them pop], possums, deer, bears, stupid kid on atv w/no lights at nite, now a horse, cow, bull or moose I'd probably pick a tree and hope the airbags deploy...but I'd be pissed...
 
every now and then you gotta crash. its what makes you better driver. push the limits and skill yourself. wear a seatbelt and dont kill yourself.
 
when i was in high school i drove a 1990 chevy lumina euro that my older brother had already put thru a barb wire fence, but i took care of it cuz it was paid for and that was the only rig my folks would get me.

now i have 2 jeeps and a brand new subaru...and i sure as hell aint gonna do nothin stupid to em. the XJ has parts waiting for me, and the subaru needs a good detail job and total lubes before she goes back on the road for any long distance.

i know the value of having my own rig and i sure as hell aint gonna do nothin stupid to wreck em.

all i can say is that i'm glad the guys are ok and no one got hurt.

i just wish mommy and daddy would beat their asses black and blue now and give em a cross country pedal bike to ride to school.


btw.....i will never swerve to hit an animal....its easier to prove to the insurance guy when theres blood and guts on your rig as to why its wrecked rather than just a wrecked rig and they think you were drinkin and drivin or just fell asleep

I learned my lesson the hard way. My parents went to chicago for the day, I stayed home. They left the keys to their 1985 cutlass supreme. The v8 rear wheel drive kind. Me and a buddy took the car out for some country road driving. I was 14 at the time. Well one thing lead to another and We thought we were the duke boys. Slid the car around a nice flat corner and right into a telephone pole. took the pole right in the drivers side door. No one was hurt until dad came home and saw his car. Turns out that when I was old enough they gave me that car to drive back and forth to school fenders still smash alittle. I loved that car. Thats what I started wheeling IN.

Off Topic:I saw that your training to be a firefighter, I'm also dead set on becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic as well once i get out of high school. What college are you going to right now?

If it's true 95% of the time, it's not much of stereotype. Mind you, having your parents give you a car is not always bad. My parents gave me a nice, slow, good-handling rusty beater when I was young, and basically told me "when you go somewhere, you be the driver."

Well, anyway, let's hope 7ravis learned a little something.

my xj is my first car, and yes, my dad bought it for me. i didnt like it when i first got it, didnt respect it either because hey, it was free. first time i wrecked it was about 5 months after i got my jeep and my licence. driving too fast in the snow and ice,bliped the gas and got squirley into a tree. all body damage, $700 worth or so. (got it done half price and just in primer) second time was another 6 months after that, too fast around a corner, first rain in two months and the road was slick. THAT ONE required a new fender, wheel, tire, d30 and all control arms, tranny lines.
by this point i have the upmost respect for my ride, ive had it completely apart save for the engine (soon bwahahaha!) and rebuilt and upgraded as much as i could. im going to regret the day i have to put it to pasture, because im attached to it enough where i dont think i could sell it.

Don't always have the chance to identify before swerving. I swerve all the time however every time it's always been in a situation where I know I can handle the swerve and there are no vehicles in the direction I'm swerving (I tend to be a very attentive driver to those around me).

Still though, we've all had the "oh shit something is there!" moment where you take action before identifying the threat.
