SNOW in Apple Valley

I gotta tell someone! We have 4 to 6 inches on the ground, and its still coming down.

yea its totally crazy. I was in San Diego last night and was heading home this morning up the 15 and crested the rise there and came down into Temecula to see snow everywhere. all of the homes along the left and right side were covered in it, cars getting onto the freeway there had 3-4" of snow on them. Was quite a site to see.

Here in Corona there is snow on all of the foothills. I dont know wtf is going on, but it looks like hell just froze over! :wierd:

Damn I guess I picked the wrong week to sail to Mexican Riviera. PLEASE TAKE PICTURES.

Just came back from JV and it's coming down up there too. It was raining at night, and when we woke up it was snowing good and by the time we were on our way home there was probably 8-10 inches. Made getting out a little interesting w/ most people pulling trailers.

hhhmmm running the hammers covered with snow and ice could prove interesting. Were you guys camping out in that area or running trails? Or maybe reinacting wedding trips?

NO WEDDINGS! (Sorry Jim, loved yours but never again!) Mike ran the trails and I rode along on the hard trail, and I drove the "easy" one. Got us stuck pretty good in the dark, in the rain, on a hill, in the sand, on a big rock w/ a popped bead. *sigh* Got out ok though w/ a little bit of team work. Saturday was really nice, couldn't have asked for better weather out there, and it didn't start raining until the night run, but it wasn't very hard until we all went to sleep. And it was like the twilight zone when we woke up, all white and foggy...

yea... that night run went south really quick when the 1st thing broke (sterring heim, then Jes's bead, then your stuck, then your bead + stuck) we were there for a good hour and a half)
anything in that canyon got sandblasted pretty good..... and those of us who wear contacts know how fun it is when sand flies into your eyes at 30mph.....

very nice trip overall.... on the way out i pulled out a buncha stuck trucks and cars (6 to be exact) :sunshine:

Eric, it was good meeting you and having you along as a passenger.

The night run was definetly interesting, to say the least. At least it didn't start snowing while we were on the trail.

It took us at least 2 hours to get to Yucca Valley. Joe had to pull me the whole way, as I got stuck about 20 feet from camp. We kept the strap on all the way to Y.V., cause I couldn't make it up the hills. 2wd trucks suck.

Looking forward to checking out your pics.

Later,

Rick

what did you break??

OK, here's what it looked like in Johnson Valley this morning (Sun). We went on a night run last night and it got cold and windy, and then this is what we woke up to this morning.

Didn't break nothin', which is a rarity for me in JV :laugh3:

My tow rig is a 2wd Dodge.

You didn't actually think I drove my junk to JV, did you?? That would be interesting.

Definately interesting. Took CRASH and I about 2 hours to get to Barstow, really slow going on the slippery roads.

Mike and I went to Yucca Valley, and by the time we got to Morongo Valley it was below the snow line, so it was wet but nothing bad. It was snowing again (slushy stuff) on the 10 right before the 60. We were home in two hours... trip through Barstow must've been bad.
