Snow Conditions

Anyone have any idea how much snow came down in Tuesday's storm? Heard there were chain controls at Missouri Flat and there was some snow still sticking outside of Placerville yesterday. Maybe a snow run soon?

A buddy sent me pics of his place in Sonora, which is pretty low elevation, like 3000 ft. it totally dumped, but its all melting fast. would have been ideal to go up today, tomorrow, or sometime asap, since I am sure there is tons of good snow right now

Yeah, its warming up quick. The weather this year has been a let down so far. I could maybe do a day run tomorrow but the rest of the weekend is full up.

Supposedly Sonora received 6 in or so. But probably melting fast with the sunshine we've been having.

Man I wish I had time to go up for a snow run. Never been snow wheelin. I have two birthdays and a funeral this weekend and jeep work next weekend.

to find any appreciable amount of snow? way up. I would say 7000 plus. I was just up there this weekend and there hasnt been much snow since new years so youve got to get up high to where it doesnt melt from. Going to be icy too

we went up wentworth a few weeks ago and it was ok.

HA so we went up 88 to iron mountain right by the Snow mobile park and got stuck for 12 hours on sunday from about 3pm to 12am. i was leading the way and got stuck first and then my buddy got stuck turning around to get my unstuck.. ended up hi Jacking my self up and a lot of digging and wood and got my self out then pulled my buddy out.. it was a fun filled sunday night..

supposed to be snowing over the next few days, who knows how long it will last though. could be a decent weekend for a snow run.

I went up wentworth this last weekend for my bday. Didn't go past uncle toms but there wasn't a lot up to that point, and was really icie.

Headed out to cherry lake (just north of Yosemite) this weekend to play in the snow. So far we have my xj, wife's wj, her brothers fsj, and a buddy in a tj going. Should be a blast.

you need to go way WAY past uncle toms for any decent snow. we were solo, but we went up to the summit, after the peak, going back down the back side of the mountain was much better snow...

I am just hoping that a few days of snow will help...

Yes, we were up there on feb. 16th, went in to cherry from the groveland side. There was about 2' of snow at the turn off toward sonora. We were in the f250, no recovery gear and street tires, so we turned back and went home through groveland.
